      Wow, one of my Grand Fathers did that for real, he was one of the brave and lucky men who came home.

              Film was KUUL. Nice find.

              My dad got sent to Germany right at/after the end of the war,
              so missed the big fighting. Occupied Germany for a year,
              said it was very sad, very depressing.

                It would be, post war, plus i think did there their economy not get flooded with money or collapsed at that point, making a loaf of bread like a gazillion in their money...
                Know it happened at one point, paper notes where worth more as toilet paper than actually money.

                        I bet theyve been hired by some big film making corporation by now...
                        that was pretty nice.

                        My grandfather was never a part of Normandy, but he was a tank captain during WWII under Gen. Patton. He said the worst thing aside from watching his buddies get mown down was all the dead animals the Germans piled in the fields.
                        He never saw the concentration camps though... so, that might have been right up there.
