Buy a gun and get some safety training with it. (sounds stupid i know, but ive never owned one and dont know a damn thing about em. I plan on buying a house this year, i want something for home defense)

if ya lived closer I'd take ya out shooting

if its just home defense, a double barrel shorty 20 gauge would work, if you plan on concealed carry, a subcompact .45 with a inside the waistband holster is a popular choice.
