How many texts do you youngsters send a month?

PJ that is a lot of texts I can't wait to get home and tell my stepdaughter. I just checked our current months usage, I have 40, my wife has 71 and my stepdaughter has 676. I'm not sure what date this started at.

In general I like texting, it comes in handy when all you need is a bit of information like when shopping and the wife wants to add something to the list.

im 17 a senior in HS, dating a 18 year old freshmen in college(probibly 30% of my txts) captain of 3 sports, I got to keep in touch with my peeps....

Assuming received messages are included in that amount and that he receives roughly an equal amount of txts to the amount he sends,

15000/2 = 7500 sent texts

7500/month = roughly 250/day


Assuming he's awake for about 16 hours per day,

250/day = ~16/waking hour

16/hour = about 1 text every 4 minutes

He is sending on average about 1 text for every 4 minutes that he is awake!


Oh, and if you use the 20,000 value it becomes 1 text every 3 minutes he is awake

You also need to figure the time when they are in school. When I computed our several months ago it was about one every 90 seconds.

Brandon's phone buzzes every few minutes the longest it will stay silent is like 3 mins TOPS !!

Not allowed on during school
Not allowed on at the dinner table
Not allowed on while driving

Not even allowed on while watching TV with me

YES it can get THAT annoying.

I average 6 a day, but then company Q texting adds maybe 100/day.

Although.... I must admit, Twitter will tell me where he is at any given time !! They use Twitter like an IM Service these days.

My wife has handled that part of the parenting and she is all over it 24/7, it's a full time job.
