really depends on the game.... me and my buddies usually use steam voice chat... it works great. -

Voice for TF2. That way everybody can converse together and nobody is left out.
TS and Vent is only really good for clans. Or a group of friends that don't have their own dedicated server.
However TS/Vent can be fun on a community basis such as CL. However it could never be allowed to take over the use of in game VOIP. Alienation isn't a good thing.

I used to use Ventrilo a ton until my mic broke
I try not to talk as much in game cause I feel that I get distracted from what I'm doing.
