...this is on some websites....when I want to change my password or reset it....this is with my Amazon.com acct....it asks for the OLD password (the one I forgot), along with the NEW passwored(reentered it too), in order for the changes to take affect.

What's the point in changing your password if you can't remember your OLD password?

Maybe your email got hacked. Can't you do the "I forgot my password" link? Also you might want to look into password safe. Pretty cool tool for storing passwords it's encrypted too.

They ask for your old password to keep someone, who knows your password, from hijacking your account. Contact Amazon about them resetting your password for you.
