    Pilots' whups.

They might want to pay a little more attention to their surroundings next time.

But they were only on their emails! Which does take over an hour to check...

Duke might be able to answer this, but if they were not paying attention to calls or warnings, they probably had headsets on while using the laptop. They were probably playing something!

Well the story is that they were using Bidding software and the FO was trying to explain it to the CA. So you have two guys in their 50's trying to figure out how to use some complicated software instead of doing their job you are asking for trouble. These guys were complacent and that is a pilots worst enemy. I find it incredible that they went this far off course and without communication for so long. I will reserve my judgment until I read the NTSB report but there is no excuse for this sort of error.

I also want to add that there are thousands and thousands of flights everyday without incidents like this and although it looks bad we have the safest airways in the world.

And fortunately for Duke the average DOD round is 3 minutes so how far can you stray in 3 minutes

Agreed. Especially when the safety and well being of 144 people are in your hands.

I guess their healthcare pays for sight tests and glaucoma treatment to allow them to read it. Many are not as lucky
