He was a 2nd round pick from what I have read. Now he may not be drafted. Actually kinda sad that this may mess up his life.

A bit harsh on the punishment though imo...maybe his history had something to do with it but I don't remember anyone from that Miami vs FIU brawl getting the boot for the year.

He does get to practice with the team still so If he does get a chance to get drafted he will still be in game shape and form.

I think if he just punched him and left he wouldn't get a season ban. It must have been his reaction to the fans and how he had to be restrained out of the field that probably lead to the harsh ban.

I can't watch the video now but it did say that he was suspended before so maybe there is more to the story.

He had been suspended indefinitely from the team before for not meeting "team obligations", which transfers to he was not going to practice and meetings the way he was supposed to.

Yeah, if it was the punch followed with a 'oh crap what did I do' reaction, it would probably have been a few games. The Artest-esque followup to the locker room did him in.
