I think if he would have listened to him, he wouldn't have been tasered... he was walking away, from the officer, toward his car. For what the officer could have known there he was gonna jump in, lock the door, and drive off!

For the record, I hate the semi-totalitarian state that the US has become. I would much prefer to live in a world of self-responsibility (read Michael Z. Williamson's Freehold). But, since we live in a welfare state that, in the interest of the ever mythical "rights" that every human being supposedly has, refuses to remove the criminal element from society, we have to deal with an overly authoritarian police force in order to have any security from the virtual cornucopia of lawlessness that roams the streets.

In short, the system sucks, but use some common sense and you won't end up twitching on the side of the highway.
