lol... it'd be hilarious if everyone was just sayin "Damn worlds gonna end! tomorrow! everyone hide!" and everyone does for that whole day, then they all come out the next day and an hour later the world randomly blows up.. lol

That date is according to Nostrodamus. The Bible code predicts that the world will end in 2011 by "a smoldering piece of rock that falls from the heavens. "Originally posted by <<~ViTO~>>DECEMBER 21st 2012 is a FRIDAY !!!!
That means " LONG WEEKEND " w00t !!
I'm making plans !!We work in the dark, to serve the light. We are Assassins.

It has nothing to do with Nostrodamus. If you click on the link, or know much about history of the Americas, you would see that it's from the Mayan long count calendar.Originally posted by Kyler721That date is according to Nostrodamus. The thing that is most bothersome about it? The Long Count calendar is STILL accurate to this day. It's only a few seconds off. It's based in large part on celestial observation, and the Maya were superb astronomers. The fact that it's so accurate should worry us at least in the back of our minds.

I THOUGHT I was familiar with the Montauk Project, but I'm unclear which aspect you're referring to here.Originally posted by DevilgunsIf your familiar with The Montauk Project you'll know that the demise of the human race doesn't happen until much later.
BTW, I was out at Montauk last year on a short family vacation to visit my wife's grandmother in East Hampton. The surviving bunkers and gigantic radar station are pretty cool.

No, this is bull crap sorry to say. There's no way to tell the future. People came close, but that's because they used obvious facts. I think we are heading towards the end of the world, but I doubt it'll be on that day.
It's a scary thought, but people predicted the world would end on 6/6/06, y2k, y1k, when Bush became President, and much other things.
But I doubt it will end on that day.

There IS some nice huge asteroids that will be flying by us about then.
Just saw a special on one of the discovery channels.
One asteroid in particular will actually graze the earth's atmosphere, and
then continue on it's way. This is a world killer asteroid. It is supposed to
be BACK less than 5 years after that, and it is unknown how our gravity
had changed it's trajectory. The date I'm not sure of, but I was thinking
more of 2015 for the first fly-by.
But a spontaneous world coming to an end? NOT!!!

Well, you cant say that the world's gonna last much longer with every country hating each other, and the world's most powerful religions getting pissed off at each other.
Honestly, the Maya's predictions have been too freakin accurate for them to be ignored. Bit creepy... But, it doesnt necessarily mean that the earth will be destroyed. Just the world will end...
That can be interpreted as a new age, or a "New World Order." That is almost as terrifying as the end of the world, if you think of the connotations.
Then there's Revelation... four horsemen of the apocolypse... various other things illustrated in it.
And as far as I know, Nostradamus only predicted what the end of the world would be like, cloven hooved monsters and such."If it can shoot you or be shot at you, destroy it" -Anonymous

I was refering to the cult of people in Southern Cali that castrated themselves because the world was ending and they'd be carried away by aliens on a comet....can't remember they're name.Originally posted by Trooper110You woulda had me if you left out the testicles part mapes
Found it it was the Heavens Gate cult.
Face it every culture and society has someone predicting that the worlds gonna end...
Big deal. It's like worrying when your gonna die.....at least to me I'll get around to that some day.
