Eh, we're the US, we do what we want, lol. My dad actually works in the aluminum industry and half the time refers to it as aluminium sine the entire rest of the world does.

Kinda like how we won't transfer to using the metric system due to cost and training, although I bet it would save in the end with how easy it is.....

I use the metric system in my business everyday. The jewelry industry has always measured in metrics.

I think better in units of measure of the metric system Apache. With electronic and computer engineering problems the units of measure usually are in metric. Unfortunately the vast majority of the public in the US still doesn't know the difference between a nanometer and a centimeter, let alone anything more 'out there' as far as measurement concerns.

I work with Brits and on occasion I do hear "Al loo min emum" instead of "aloom men um".

The best was when I was over in the UK for training. My coworkers and I went out for a beer where we argued the pronunciation of route. Like your computers default route. We say "default route" the Brits say "default root".

I believed they ended the argument with "It's root damn it ... we created the fricking language"

Anybody here know exactly why you decided to change the name? Is it for easier pronunciation?
