Howa 1500...

So, I'm thinking about getting a Howa 1500 in .223 for paper punching out to 500 yards. I can always get a .308 barrel later on down the line if I want something with a pit more punch, or if I want to go out to 1000 yards. Anybody tried them, know anything about them? Do they come with a scope? How much assembly is there gonna be, because i've only fired handguns and of course my M16.....

I don't know about Howa. It used to be that you could buy just the Rem 700 receiver from brownells but, I think Remington stopped that....such a pity
