    Online gun supply shops

I was wondering where my fellow gun owners do their online shopping. I'm looking for things like a range bag, accessories and reloading supplies.

    TIA

    Duke,

I dug up one that I could remember. I bought AK ammo and mags from these guys. It was the cheapest place I could find for ammo last year, and they had a great deal on some new Romanian mags. I haven't looked much at their AR15 stuff, because I'm pretty much set there. Anyway, it's not a bad site.

For cheap ammo before I got into reloading I used
Cheaper Than Dirt - America's Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter
for all of my gun/reloading needs I go through MidwayUSA Shooting Supplies, Reloading, Gunsmithing, Hunting, Ammunition, Gun Parts & Rifle Scopes
and sometimes for ammo or other gear I just go to Cabelas

I'm very glad you asked this question cause I was trying to figure out the same thing. I have seen the MidwayUSA and noticed it appears tro be one of the most popular, but that's about it.

I don't buy online... I buy local so I can actually see the holsters, mags, loaders, bags...ect...ect... so I know what i'm getting because some of it my life may depend upon.

If you have a good local selection, it's great. If I'd have bought my AK mags from the nearest local dealer I would have paid twice as much for used/not new mags...and the 1,000 rnds of ammo would have been another $70 or so...and the AR mags I ordered new from Armalite for again half the price I would have paid locally.

Well this is all fine and good if you know exactly what you want... but I personally like to browse around and what not half the time. lol.

I definitely do also, but he's just saying it's nice to have a reliable online seller where the prices are cheaper for some items. I agree and like you said I won't use something my life may depend on that is lower grade. I would buy online but not from a unknown source that is questionable.

As far as MidwayUSAs rating on BBB.org.
-The company is out of Columbia, MO.
-BBB rate them a B with 3 complaints in the last 36 month of which 2 were closed in the last year. 1 complaint was an advertised price not honored and the other 2 were failure to honor refund, exchange or credit policies.
-Rated B due to insufficienet background info on business.
                    -Domain name registered thru godaddy.com
-Their address matches on the BBB review and their domain registration.
                    -Not BBB accredited

-The company is out of Middletown, OH
-BBB rate them a B- with no complaints on file in the last 36 months
-Rated B- due to last of sufficient information to determine how long business has been operating and insufficient background info on business
-Domain name registered thru Intercosmos Media Group (Directnic.com)
-Their address on in hidden on registrar (normal security)
                    -Not BBB accredited

                    Cheaperthandirt.com
-The company is out of Fort Worth, TX
-BBB rate them a C with 16 complaints on file in the last 36 months, of which 8 were in the last 12. 1 complaint for selling practices, 8 complaints were advertising issue, 1 complaint was credit or billing disputes, 2 complaints delivery issue, 3 complaints were product quality and 1 complaint was repair issue.
-Rated C due to number of complaints filed against business, number of serious complaints filed against business and BBB does not have sufficient background info.
-Domain name registered thru Network solutions.
-Their address matches on the BBB review and their domain registration.
                    -Not BBB accredited

SUMMARY: I definitely not buy from cheaperthandirt.com just because of their rating with the number of complaints I would never consider them.
I believe out of these three "I" would buy from MidwayUSA with no worries mainly because of the number of google hits I see on different websites/blogs referring to buying from them. They seem to be more popular and appear to have a better selection.
Now bottom line is if you don't feel comfortable with this type company you have no idea about you can always go with someone like Cabela's Official Website - Quality Hunting, Fishing, Camping and Outdoor Gear at competitive prices.
I know who the Cabelas company is since they have a store in Denver, CO and a some of my friends buy there.
Good luck on the hunt Duke and please let me know about you experience when you buy from them. I'm probably going to order some ammo and a new holster from MidwayUSA.com.

Good work (on the research), DougBob! I agree with the Cabelas thought, as well. That's where I used to buy ammo (last box of 1,000 .223 I bought was $170) before it skyrocketed, and then I went to AimSurplus for a chunk, after searching the whole damned web (and switching to shooting the M70, with its cheaper 7.62), which did just fine for me. I'm sitting on my .223 ammo because the price is just ridiculous lately.

I also agree with Gene that it is nice to shop around if you can (but when I do I try not to bring the credit card, lol). There are, however, only a few retailers that sell some of the items that I buy around here...and because there are only a few their prices are not always terrific...and things like my Aimpoint Comp M4 I saved over $100 by buying online (plus no one around here has them)...and I sure would have returned it if it didn't do the job.

Now, after all my yakking, it looks like you found some good deals on the ammo, Duke! It does pay to shop around.

+1 although I have bought a lot through Cabelas over the years.

I have good things to say about Midway.

About three weeks ago I bought a clearance BSA 6-18 x 40 Sweet .17 scope at almost 50% off. They're website suggested buying an eye and objective flip up lens cap from Butler Creek. They had the sizes already there in the suggestion so I said sure and added em to my cart. When I got it the objective side cap was for a 50mm objective and didn't fit. I sent them an email. The next day the rep responded with

I am sorry to hear about that sir, I looked at your invoice, and it is the incorrect lens cover on there, it should be #33. I have gone ahead and shipped another one out to you, and I will check and make sure we are suggesting the right product. When I put that scope into my cart, it suggested #33, so it may be a temporary glitch. We do not require you return the other lens cap, so you can give it to a friend, or just trash it.
Awesome... I had the almost same exact experience with a case feeder part. I had ordered the case feed wheel for my automatic case feeder and I received one sized for large pistols instead of large rifle. They did the same thing and let me keep it. At least when they mess up if its not expensive you get free stuff

That's good news about Midway I will be sure to check them out.

As for Cheaper then dirt, the ammo I ordered last night has shipped already so I'll let you guys know hen it get to my home. The only problem is that my my AR may not take 5.56 x45 rounds. I went by a number stamped on the lower part of the gun and not whats on the barrel. Apparently all lowers are stamped the same. What the heck am I going to do with 120 rounds of ammo?
