Unfortunately, Search Warrants that are issued in large departments are often written by people who have no idea what they are talking about -- or translating the information from the Field Agent/Officer into the warrant.

That is really sad. Because if this individual is in fact the right person, the vagueness of the information makes the warrant weak and the public uneasy.

Their intent may not be what it shows right now. I hope that they get it right so that either this person can be past all this harrassment or taken to task for violating the privacy laws that it is trying to suggest he has broken.

Hmmm I read through the search warrant. There is more there than just the few snippets on the EFF site. My gut feel is that it was a friendship that turned sour. The computer guy pulled a prank and logged into his exfriends account and sent out an email declared said ex friend was gay. As aside other than the first few weird remarks (linux users are criminals) there seems to be something there.
