So were Cans used for Canned food. When you put acidic foods in the cans, it would disolve the lead into the food, and alter the taste. most people wouldn't eat canned veggies for this reason.

I completely agree with Rovey Wade here. Sorry I am in that target demographic over 40. I have to say no lead based paints are a good thing as are helmets and most defiantly seat belts saves lives and don't even get me started on motorcycle helmets. I understand the author is trying to say that as a whole people feel that the government has become a nanny state or that people want the world to be wrapped in bubble wrap to protect they're kids is kind of annoying. However these rants are kinda whinny little tantrums.
