I don't know why it say "The new software to be released Wednesday" I have a 3rd party version of it since November. I have that on my T-mobile Google G1. Its a neat app. It gets really close when they have there GPS on. Other then that, it uses the cell tower to pinpoint your area.. The thing is the Google G1 battery sucks when you use your GPS for anything. Even the Radio app uses GPS. As far as privacy. I have nothing to hide. I just turn the GPS off

Ummm, it's new because you can just load a Google map and see where everyone is, no plug ins, no extas, it's just there, streamlined along with the rest of the map.[img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v337/Igorod/troopdod.jpg[/img]
