                  The switch has been given plenty of forewarning and there is so much info out there on how to switch. The only people that are really going to lose out are those who dont care enough to figure out of to get a converter box and hook it up. My grandparents have been using the digital converter box since xmas and more they get more channels now then with rabbit ears and better reception.

                        Many TV stations to end analog on Feb. 17 - Tech and gadgets- msnbc.com

                        And apparently 1/4 or so of cable companies are sticking with the February date, although the FCC can deny them the early shutoff on a case to case basis if they wish to.

                          The FCC is denying about 174 stations that wanted to make the switch this month.

                          My sister-in-law is screwed. She lives in Dayton, and all four of their major stations are prohibited from switching.
