    MIA Interment

This was a first for me in the Patriot Guard Riders -the honor to escort and stand for Sergeant First Class Donald Shue, MIA in Laos 41 years ago... he finally came home last weekend and was laid to rest (in Concord, NC). I've been on several dozen PGR missions but never for an MIA.

It was two parts. The escort of SFC Shue from the National Guard Armory to the Funeral Home on Saturday (I couldn't make this one) and the interment on Sunday. There were about 500 to 700 bikes on Sunday. On Saturday, however, there were an estimated 2000 to 3000 bikes. This procession stretched for nine miles and was escorted by two Apache attack helicopters... would have been a sight to see.

Renea's father is buried at the cemetery where SFC Shue was buried. She, my mother-in-law, and daughter went there to visit her dad's grave before this event and then stayed for our arrival. My mother-in-law shot the video below. I'm at mark 5:03 on the silver Dyna Glide on the right side... I'm exiting the shot just as you hear my mother-in-law say "did you see him" . I'm also in the very last frame with my daughter to my left standing on the flag line.
