    Texas/Oklahoma Flooding

Hope all in Texas and Oklahoma are well and dry. It looks like there may still be several more days of rain to come. We needed drought relief for sure, but not quite this way. All is good for me here in Fort Worth.

First day a small tornado ripped apart trees at work. The day after literally rained from 9pm to 2am, flooded everything... and then it started again at 2:30 until 5am and flooded whatever else that wasn't flooded. Had to move my car to higher ground and water almost reached the doors again. Somebody please call Al Gore. This is getting out of control!

Yeah, my apartment is built about a foot higher than the street. It's great because for a few hours I had a lake side apartment lol

How was the rain up there where you are?

My wife is from Houston and so far all of her friends seem to be OK. KP, be glad that they did not raise your rent for lake side.

Rent prices in Houston couldn't possibly be any higher. Thanks Obama!

We have had quite a bit, though most of the heavier rains stay just South of FW and then on ENE to Dallas and beyond. The Brazos and Trinity rivers are pretty high and most of the reservoirs have filled back up. Luckily I'm not near any areas of concern. Looking at one forecast, for the first time in quite a while there are currently no rain chances from Sunday on through the end of next week.

My mom is just outside of Austin and the reservoir is really filling up quickly. It has been down for a long time.

The news tonight said that it had rained enough in Texas this month to put 8" of water on every square inch of the state.

I saw a report that the rain that has fallen on Texas would be enough to supply California for two years.

If she's talking about Lake Travis, it has risen 30 feet this month with most of the rise just in the last week. It is still down about 20 feet from normal level.
