Can anybody else hop on? We've had about 8 CLR's play today but not at the same time. Almost as if we're rotating. Getting us all together which help the server a lot.

Please update me. The tanks are still out right? Is that helped gain more people or is the same situation like before?

Hey Boby... Can you please provide me with solid proof that no tanks is having an adverse affect on the server? Because if I recall correctly, when we had tanks we couldn't get the server started up most of the time, because when it go to around 5v5 or 6v6, or even 8v8, people would leave out of frustration about dieing from a tank over and over again.
Just because you can kill a tank quickly, doesn't mean the general population can, and it's the general population that is put forward before the likes of a single individual. "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few".

Isnt the whole point of removing them was exactly to bring more people? Its simple question. So far its even worst then before is THAT simple.

Sorry, but you're absolutely dead wrong here. We've had MUCH higher counts overall since tanks were removed than when they were in the server.
Thanks for playing. Here's a copy of the home game, just for you.

I am not going to argue with you. If you said so. But leaving your computer conected to the server for days doesnt mean that the people who played on the server picked up. I believe whats helping more is rising the XP points not removing the tanks. But if you defend that removing the tanks actually is helping let it be your way.

Actually Boby, the player count was higher BEFORE the rise in XP. I of course, play most every day, minus the holiday vacation bouts, and when we had tanks, the player count was about 6 v 6, 12 v 12 at the top end. Before the XP was risen the server was close to full. I think the rise in XP might have lost a few players, instead of gained more overall, but the 'no tanks' has definately made it easier to start and provided the server with more players.
On a different note, the most annoying thing in BF2 was the vehicles, especially some of the mods. I have always played 1st person shooters, with the person being the mode of transport. I can play BF2 and 2142 fine, but overall, I liked being on the ground. Infantry only servers are about the only ones I will play in BF2 as do many people.
COD 4 didn't have tanks, so I see no reason why this should have tanks. I'm sure they will be added at an appropriate time, but for now they aren't there. It's unfortunate that a simple tank would keep you from playing here. Good games though!

Lull from break is one thing.
A lot of schools started up here today in Cali.
I'm back at work after basically being in support mode for the last 3 weeks of Dec. Now its grinder time and full ground pound at the office- so you wont see me until 7pm PST.
Have fun guys- I already miss the mid-morning frag.:2thumbs:
And for whatever it is worth, to anyone who is actually reading what is posted, the player numbers ARE up.
Last night, I saw 15 vs 15 and as high as 21 vs 21.
Two days before that- I had trouble logging in at one point, and then it was full as well.
On the maps that had tanks, the drop rate is very minimal, but the join rate is pretty darn good.
On the smaller maps, we have some values that make it impossible to track why people are dropping.
Overall- if you want to help out and support the community, take all that time you spend arguing a point and insert it into the server as your presence. Perhaps if we focus on what the server has (as in our friends we like to play with) and less on what it doesnt have (such as tanks or the single shot kill that I love to play) we would have a happier taste in our mouths
Believe it or not, there are like several opinions in contrast to one another, and no one, I MEAN NO ONE, is going to be happiest when this occurs. You live with what you have, and if you like playing here, so be it.
I'll see you guys who like the Cains Lair Community in the server. Everyone else, enjoy the pine on the sidelines. Hope is not a strategy- its an acceptable way of quitting :D

We really do need more people. We had more people in the server at 5pm GMT than 1am GMT which is kind of odd.
