Maybe someone with enough skill can find the millions of e-mails "lost" by the White House in the run-up to the Iraq War and beyond. Heh.

If you think this kinda of practice is limited only to Palin and or the the Repubs, you have been drinking too much of yourself!
Corruption is rife throughout Washington and until we have term limits for ALL government positions nothing will change, if we want the power back in the hands of the people, we need to remove the entrenched politicians that have been there for so long that they have forgotten the "For the People by the People" This problem is not partisan, this problem is in the way business is done in DC :2cents:

Wait wait wait. Firstly I would like to say that I don't like Palin. Secondly you bet brute forcing her password on yahoo is a federal offense. No two ways about it. It was unauthorized computer access. Thirdly I read the two emails and I find the charge of avoid transparency ridiculous.
I don't always agree with shorter term limits either. I mean I understand what it's trying to do but, sometimes it works against people who are actually doing good by force turn over which is usually bad in a work force...

Actually, there's a growing national movement AGAINST term limits where they have been imposed. In my county for example, our council is limited to two terms. Well, it takes most of one to learn the job, and most of the second one ends up being them trying to get something done to leave a legacy to get people to vote for them for the next job.

I think anyone that illegally wiretaps into someone's private information should be charged with a crime!

Consider this however:
As the population of both country and world increases, so does the level of complexity in governmental practices. The sheer magnitude of the undertaking is daunting at best.
As this occurs, I wonder if I may agree with you, but increase the base value by one or two years for each incumbency. This would jive with another position in the post, where someone said the first term is getting immersed in the job, the second is getting something done to leave a legacy.
My example:
So it's a 4 year term for President of the US. If the examples hold true being that term 1 is immersion and term 2 is action, why not keep limits in place but extend the term by 1-2 years. Two 5 year terms would likely allow enablement while keeping intact the principle of limiting certain corruption.
Just my two cents here.

But McCain's ancient already! Four years would be a stretch, I'm afraid. :lol3:
