anyone playing this?

seems like there aren't a lot of players.. i have been playing ctf and there's one server that almost always has 10-15 players, and its not so bad..nothing like ut2k4 was on cains though... there's more on vctf but i don't really get into it that much..anyone else out there playing much ut3?

I am. Almost always play warfare though, because like you said the CTF servers are pretty vacant.

I'd be playing vCTF too but most servers I see that are full are using custom maps, and I haven't had the time lately to download 50 meg maps.

I play occasionally on that one server you mentioned. It really is the only UT3 CTF server that is kept somewhat busy. I actually like the game much more than the demo, and I'm powering thru the SP campaign right now.

I play this occasionally on instant action because I can't find any servers and half the time I connect to a server the game crashes. I still think it's fun though, but it's really different from 2k4.

While I agree with that on the surface, its a tough statement to quantify to a gamer unless you detail your differences.

I loved UT, liked 2k3 and felt 2k4 was a disappointment. It offered nothing new on 2k3 that I cared for (I hate vehicles in games, unless its the hoverboard). So while it is different, its still the same look and feel of UT2kx in general.

Hmm, I disagree with that. I can't really explain it but it feels different. The COD series games all feel the same to me, but UT3 feels like, to quote Yahtzee, "a stranger thinly disguised as my best friend". While many of the features are the same, it just doesn't, oh I don't know, behave in the same way as previous games. The game just feels much more realistic and gritty than the previous ones in my opinion.

+1, and that is why most people aren't playing on it... After all it's unreal Tournament... not Real tournament...

wellll.. its only 19.95 at target now.. cheap enough for people to try.. i think its a lot like 2k4 with ctf at least.. i haven't played any custom maps and that's where the previous game was at its best imo... bedroom and thorns were 2 of my favorites

T5K plays Warfare almost every night.
Feel free to join our ventrilo or UT3 server or both.
If you are a mapper, I have setup a test 4v4 server for all mappers to use as needed.
No need to become a member. We just enjoy the company.
