If anyone's interested in this upcoming MMO, FP is running a stress test for subscribers only at this point:

I'm going to try to give this one a look sometime this week, but I have too many games on my plate as it is, and the really good ones aren't even out yet.

Thats what im thinking as well. not to mention if its a good mmo i dont wanna ruin it by playing beta. beta players are always the first to burn out on mmo`s.

Thrash, if you do try it out, post up your impressions. We seem to have similar gaming tastes and experiences. And not being a fileplanet member, I won't be able to try it out.

It's actually a lot better than I expected. I'm not going to say anything NDA-breaking, but I thought it was okay. Some aspects of the game were oversimplified, notably ship combat. They'll get a nice flood of early subscribers from fans of those godawful POTC movies, then it will probably survive as a niche title for people that are really into that period of history.
Not for me. I'll keep waiting for Warhammer.

I don't know about PotC fans, there's an actual MMO being made by Disney in the PotC world where you can interact with all the main characters and stuff.

That's right, I had forgotten about that. I'm not sure who this is going to appeal to then. It didn't seem deep enough to me.

Friend of mine is in the beta for it. She said that it doesn't look like there's going to be a lot of high end content from what she's seen so far, and there's apparently not a lot of penalties for dying. I'm guessing they're aiming this at the late pre-teen, early teen audience who will want to play just because of the setting.
