Well, Kenshin and I have been looking for a job shortly after we moved for college (beginning of July) with no success. Nobody will accept family to work together, but we only have one vehicle, so it'd be rough to maintain two jobs at separate locations with one vehicle.
But, we've been chosen as candidates to work at our college, in the financial aid department and registrar department (as assistants, of course). We're going tomorrow morning, at 10:00 AM, and hopefully this'll be our big break! The pay isn't a big concern for us, but being able to choose our hours to work (and having them work around our college schedule) is going to help a LOT. Plus, it'd be at the same place.
So, wish us luck. If things turn out well, we should both have a position sometime real soon! Likely this week!

Good luck! Getting a job at your school is a very good idea! You're right on about the flexibility. I used to do workstudy and it's really hard to find another arrangement where you can take time off just because you have a test or something.

If you can get workstudy
My parents made too much for me to get subsidized govt loans and they didnt help me with college. So couple years later and 20k in debt, ill be paying this off for another decade.
All of the jobs were reserved for 'need based' people. Which ticks me off because one of my best friends at the same college. his parents blew all their cash on buying a boat, he got govt grants because his parents had about 0 in savings and a ton in debt. Whereas my parents had a good chunk of cash in savings (for retirement) and i spend my college working at walmart to pay bills...
Of course im not bitter.....

Looks like Tails and I will be going back Wednesday for the interview. We got there today to find out that the one who would be hiring us has been sick for the past few days and didn't come in today, either. So, Tails and I are planning on going back Wednesday.
Thanks, guys!

Good news!
Tails and I have been hired! We start work on the Monday, 8th. We're starting off at $7.50 per hour, which may not be the greatest pay in the world, but money is money.
I was a little worried at first, since they were talking like they wouldn't be able to hire us due to some errors in our records that were not in our control. But, I guess they were just trying to scare us. :D

Congrats. :2thumbs: And 7.50 is better than what I made when I was a desk assistant in the lobby of my dorm room my "second" senior year (when I was earning my second bachelor degree). Course, I had other benefits, like being able to see everyone in the building as they come in or go out, sometimes to interesting results.
