As soon as I have an extra $180 laying around, I'll buy the box set.
I've caught a little bit of different ones and they are great.
...And I've seen plenty o' documentary about WWII.
This one really stands out to me because it focuses less on the top brass and statistics and more on the average soldier fighting.
edit: If anyone saw Ken Burns on the Daily Show, he talks about exactly this.

$180? What messed up store are you buying at? I've got some swamp land in Florida I'm looking to move, if you're interested.
It's $78.99 at Amazon right now. You'll possibly be able to get it less at some point in the near term future at Buy.com or deepdiscountdvd.com. Best Buy is almost always comparable on DVD prices to Amazon.

I took a quick glance at pbs' website. The price includes a book among a few other things.

I have it recorded on my HTPC rig, so once it ends I'd like to transfer to DVD and have it available to watch. They even had it in HD but I can't get that HD OTA signal via my internal antenna ... one of my Fall projects is to get the roof antenna down to the den to plug into the HTPC.
