I think a gun would get the point across more. I would think that most intruders would have something that could shoot or slash or stab right through that. And that club looks to be less than 2 ft long. But it doesnt say the demensions so who knows for sure?
I would definately rather have a gun or big knife under the pillow.

I do have a couple of .38's in the master bedroom.
Special soft outside, and a tungsten steel post in the middle.
Blows up to .60 cal or over, while the hard post keeps it drilling for gold.

Seriously, Shotguns are better for home defense if you haven't practiced with a pistol. (And NO, BF2 or 2142 pistol practice is NOT the same)

Some of them big puppies pack quite a punch. But you can dump a little 22 in a tiny area, VERY fast. Though that probably wouldnt stop a man on PCP wearing body armor. Unless you shot him in the head. And, can you have knives in england, or did they get taken away along with swords?
