Author of the Wheel of Time series. Hoping his wife and cousin have enough info to put together the last book the way that RJ wanted it to be. Good author though, he'll be missed.

DAMNIT! He was doing fairly well given what that disease does. This is a sad day indeed. He will be missed.
I hope he was able to assemble the notes for the last book of the Wheel of Time. I believe that was his top priority as he began the treatments.

It is a sad day indeed. I suppose it is fitting, his bio on the books says he will keep writing until they put the nail on his coffin. I do hope they put together the last book. It would be a shame for his legacy, as it were, to be left unfinished. It would also suck on a personal note because I started reading them in high school and I want a stinkin' ending!

Same here. Him or Perrin.
So. Was book 13 planned to be the last book?

The last book in the series is the one that didn't get written. It sounds like his wife and/or cousin will be finishing the last book for him though.

Book 12. And yes, A Memory of Light (title) was to be the last book in the series. The hope is, and word from Jason, who runs Dragonmount.com and was closest to Jordan of all fan sites, is that RJ dictated enough and left enough notes for someone to finish it with at least the events he envisioned.
So while the style will be different (how many other people could make Mat, well, MAT?), at least we'll find out how it was supposed to end, what gets wrapped up, and what is to be left unresolved.
