I have to agree; I haven't had that much fun playing in a Loooooong time! :D

Yes, BF2 has it's issues (as it always has). But the squad voip dialogue is what puts the icing on the cake for me. COD4 is a riot for game play, imo, but there's really no meaningful voip communication going on (though it's fun for the 20 or so seconds between rounds).

I'm remembering why I was so hooked on Battlefield 2 at Cain's Lair. You all are a lot of fun to play with! :2thumbs:

yea tonight was alot of fun, was fun commanding on sharqi and on Mashtuur, i had alot of artillery kills. :D i wanna to do on karkand too but got beat by rank, but that guy was a good commander too. 8)

I remember at one point we had a pretty coordinated squad going it was me twinky and some other folks, I hopped in a buggy with Twinky and he ran straight into a tree. I hit the VOIP button and went "there's a tree there twinky, watch out for those."

I think that's like the second time I've ever squadded with you Cain.

Man tonight was just like old times, except better because most of the asshats have left BF2 and it was almost all old CLR folk.

Playing the airborne with the MEC transport chopper on Mashtur was fun tonight, i have no idea how we lost so bad.

lol it was great playin with ya... yea the server was pretty packed tight and rockin... I never knew massacre sniped/flew heli's... so used to a nekomata in the face lol.
I had fun runnin around like a madman screaming banzai and shooting face with my sniper :D

I had a blast last night. And RuThLeSsKiLLa can command anytime. He was great and extremely accurate with the artillery. I do hate being on the other end of his artillery when I am on the other side. :D

I'm glad others are volunteering for command. I don't want to command this go-around since I spent so much time doing that when the game was first up. I just realized as I was typing this that since I have the expert command badge, somewhere between 1/3rd and 1/5th (based off Vanilla-only or Vanilla+SF time) of my overall play time was spent as commander.

ROFL... I thikn I was avoiding something, I don't remember. I'm not the best driver, but I can get us to where we have to go.

And never, ever get in a copter with me. I never got the hang of those. Actually, I still don't have the hang of many vehicles hehe. Its all good though.

We had Ben transporting our squad from Flag to flag... TOTALLY AWESOME FUN !!!

Ben would drop us in close then hover at a higher altitude then we would clear a LZ for him, load up the chopper and proceed to the next target !!!

I missed the chopper a few times while destroying assets and the next thing you hear is " Vehicle Dropped in You Sector " how cool is that !!
I jumped in and raced to the next target, get there to find my waiting squad hovering in the helo screaming.......JUMP IN JUMP IN !!!

The best thing..........once your safely in the chopper with your squad...you hear the clicking of ammo loading in your bags !!! Thanks Support GUY !!

Man I forgot how much fun this game could be. The squad play and communication in this game is by far the best aspect of the game IMO.

Some of that stuff is priceless.

We had a similar incident with Geddy. He was blowing assets and we had to pull out. I couldnt leave the Geddster behind so I bailed from the blackhawk, only to once again forget my parachute key and fall to my death.:(:D

I could never REALLY get into this game when we first started playing because of my computer issues but this time around < knock on wood > its been running EXCELLENT !!

So for me.... alot of things in this game are actually kinda " NEW " :shock:

Well, I finally managed to hop in the server. It was a blast, I saw a ton of faces that I haven't seen a looong time. Had the pleasure of squading with some old and new members, too. :2thumbs:

I started over, so I was toting around all the basic equipment. :lol: I had some bad rounds, but I had some good ones, too. It definitely brought back some old memories.

Apache being squad leader, Massacre killing me with his tank, Rand going 25-0 with his tank....not much has changed. :D

Didn't lose my edge too much with the transport helos and I got plenty of opportunity to actually pilot an attack helo, but couldn't find a target for beans! It was good fun with a squad of 6 CLRs, though (Apache, Rand, Nevus, Hamster, Kenshin, and I for a while) and plenty of CLRs to shoot at and get shot by.

I think BigTwinky gave me the biggest "welcome" as he was throwing bullets into my face with great accuracy. :twisted:

Just got a "This server only allows players with unmodified content to join. Revert your version of battlefiled 2 to the current official verison to join." error, so I'm gonna do a quick uninstall/reinstall, as that is the only fix I've found from reading around.

I used to be able to take out snipers with my PKM. I was hoping Razi had some kind of shield. Heaven help me if I have lost my PKM skills. :oops:

i learned a valuable lesson last night. which a laptop CAN play bf2 on it, doesn't mean you SHOULD play on it. my poor wireless mouse kept loosing signal, 6 inches from the reciever, my joystick was VERY abscent, so i couldn't fly my jet, the smaller screen size and high resolution made seeing AT mines NEARLY impossible, the built in Mic sucks, and i couldn't switch it, vent & bf2 also refuses to share the mic at the same, and well, i am quite rusty without my SVD. smaller screen=smaller targets+high sensitivity makes sniper kills as well as most other kills very hard.

i'll be back though, watch your back :)

Seriously I am so glad you put this server back up Cain. I'm even attempting to get my dad hooked on the game.

Yeah I hopped on right after SighKo started playing - what a blast! That was the Cain's Lair I remember :D

Took a little while to get used to the game for the most part, but I found out I still know how to snipe...

However, since we aren't running 64 players now 24/7 it might be a good idea to pull some of the biggest maps and replace them with medium sized ones.

We tried the medium sized maps, and didn't really like how constrained they made us feel (think Karkand 32 vs. 64). In addition, several of them, including Karkand, are more unbalanced for one side than the full-size version.

Most of the small maps are lame. Half of those we're running at 64p are little different in overall map size than the 32; they just have a flag or two extra (Mashtuur still has gas stations, but they aren't flags. Sharqi is almost the same size, just a bit more constrained flight area and the addition of the alleyway flag).

Try playing 64 players on a 16 player Karkand map. I have done this and it is a bloodbath. This is the closest that BF2 comes to COD4 style play. :mutley:
