Well guys, it was as I expected, unfortunately.
1) If we want players in our BF2 server we will need to run Karkand 24/7.
2) Running Karkand 24/7 is really boring for our crowd, since they were accustomed to running a variety of maps.
3) It is going to be very, very, very tough to get a BF2 Server going with as small a Community as we have, with a game as old as this on the back end of its popularity. Remember to have any sort of player counts you need THOUSANDS of players, and we have less than 25.
I am thinking about trying SF today, but that looks like a very long shot to attracting new players, considering many of our own don't even have SF !!!
We are working on a new server box of our own, and when it goes on-line we can either run an unranked BF2 server, or we can try one of the mods, the most popular of which being Project Reality.

I think it just needs more time, if you look at the history graph (for one week) it shows (line of best fit), an increase in players

Ryan makes a good point... considering we've only had the server running for like 4 days our numbers have grown dramatically, give it some time.

While that may be true some of us don't have that to spend, COD4 just ran me $50, and I have to save for racing season. (I need a new exhaust system for my bike) Plus SF's gameplay is quite different than BF2 and personally I'd rather see a mix of SF and Vanilla than just SF.

Not only that, some of us don't really want to spend the $10 on a game that we might only run for a few weeks.

You also get new unlocks...

You don't need SF to get the unlocks, you just need to play on a game on a ranked SF server and you can unlock the SF weapons. Friend of mine has SF and I logged on his computer once so I unlocked the ability to unlock the unlocks.
