That is not CGI, this is Ray Park in his SnakeEyes costume and is 100% real. He looks fantastic, I'm definitely excited about this movie!

For those of you who don't know, Ray Park is also the guy who played Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode One.

I'll be looking forward to seeing it. I'm glad Hasbro stepped up to the plate and defended their product from the original movie script.

Well, that is what I want to happen. But I was assuming since G.I. Joe was a childrens show, that the movie will be child-oriented.

How did I miss this thread?!?

I had no idea they were making a GI Joe movie!
Perfect timing as I have been wanting to unload some of my 1980s action figure collection, so the price might go up when the movie hits :D

Reading up some on the movie...

A bad sign... the actor playing Ripcord is Marlon Wayans. He was also in the D&D movie and did some really REALLY stupid comic relief. I really hope this is a serious role for him.

On a side note, I love the choice for Heavy Duty - Adewale Adbaje is an awesome actor (he played Mr Eko in Lost, amongst other things )

Yeah, I'm thinking this is going to be a pass.

"Wayans' character is also supposed to be romantically involved with Scarlett, who's supposed to be Australian, and not at all interested in Snake Eyes, who is apparently a French orphan under a vow of silence, while Hawk is British, Breaker is French Moroccan, Cover Girl is German, Duke is Baroness's fiance, Baroness is Cobra Commander's sister, Cobra Commander is former US Army, Cobra is Destro's mercenary army, "Global Integrated Joint Operations Entity" is still G.I. Joe's official name, the Pit is in Egypt, Storm Shadow is Korean, and the Arishikage ninja clan is based in Vietnam, or at least that's what I've been hearing about the latest iteration of the script to be leaked.

I pray it's not true..."

Originally the Movie company wanted to keep "A Real American Hero" out of the title. A lot of fans got pissed about that. Especially the reason given was for a film to be successful these days it has to do well in the foreign market. 'With the rest of the world not having a good view of America right now were going to make G.I.J.O.E a multi national task force not based in the U.S.'

Hasbro made a press statement that they were going to reject the original script to keep the integrity of their product, I guess the bean counters won out.

And the Toad in X-Men. He's pretty much Hollywoods #1 sword guy. The scene in Episode 1 with Obi-Wan may be the best sword fighting scene I've watched, along with Princess Bride.

My favorite sword fight, on film, is in Yakuza (1974) . It starred Robert Mitchum and Ken Takakura. If you haven't seen this movie you should really treat yourself.

For sword fights you gotta love a cheese movie called black rain....some dude gets his head cut off by a guy riding a sport bike

Ken Takakura was in Black Rain. Yakuza was the closest thing to realism you will see in a movie.

The one where he ends it by grabbing the other dudes rapier and almost cutting him in half? Shweet!

Poor choice of words on my part, sorry.

By serious role, I meant NOT comic relief. As in, he tries to actually act and not just be stupid funny.

I'm not talking Morgan Freeman serious..

Where did you find all that info from?
