I was thinking of Avatar too but I have it for the psp and was not impressed...

Anyway, he likes fast paced games, not as in ZOOM but as in, no 10min monologues, or long breaks in action.
If he has to do a puzzle thats not either well disgused or needs some working out he's off it.
Free roaming as in like the simpsons, he likes, he goes off and does his own thing, but the platform style of Nick toons he likes...

Anyway, was wondering if any ones played these, or knows about them that can give me more info/advice on what to get.

Also, I have Sonic the hedgehog for the 360..
Did it ever come out on the Wii?

He may like something like Mario Party or Wario Ware also. They have a bunch of short mini-games that take advantage of the wii-mote in different ways.

+1

My sister loves playing Mario Party. The games are shorty and quirky enough to keep you interested the whole time, and they really take advantage of the motion sensing. He may not enjoy a few of the games (my sister had trouble w/ 2 or 3 of them) but overall, they're fairly simple and easy to do.

The 360/PS3 version of Sonic never came out on the Wii, but I liked the Wii version better. I 360/PS3 version just didn't feel much like Sonic to me, but the Wii seemed to nail it pretty darn well. The mini-games in Sonic and the Secret Rings are also fairly close to Mario Party. They're pretty simple and make good use of the wii-mote.

I think the mini games are fairly interesting in Sonic & the Secret Rings. After a while, they'll wear your arms out (such as the one where you're trying to paddle upstream in a canoe) but I was laughing my head off, even if I came in 4th!

I think the Mario Party mini-games are more user-friendly, though, and I believe there's quite a few more games on Mario Party than Sonic. Sonic has a few different ways to play the mini games (few different ways to "move around the board", that is). If you're getting it for the mini games, perhaps he'll like the main game, as well? Though, I'll admit that some of the level designs are boring, such as run through this same stage again, but don't grab any pearls this time. It's rather challenging, too.

Have you looked into Wii Play? I haven't heard much about it, but I believe it's just a big set of mini-games.
