I'm no Spears fan, but hearing on the news about how she screwed up her big comeback by a mediocre/horrible performance combined with being fat, I decided to watch it on the MTV site.
I have to say that she doesn't look fat, she looked healthy... especially with 2 kids. I guess women have to be rails to be considered sexy? Blah. The performance was horrible... she basically tried to dance but looked very uncomfortable doing it... I blame he choice on stilletto high heel boots (dancing?) and she just seemed out of it.
Why in this American society do women have to look all twiggy to be accepted as 'sexy' in entertainment (besides the 'adult' entertainment)? Geez...

Forget the part of her having two children, I thought she looked fine even if she had had NO children. I find it fascinating that in a country where obesity is such a concern, a woman who looks better than the majority of women is being castigated for being "overweight". Ridiculous.
And the dancing was bad because she decided to drink instead of practice. Or so I hear.

She certainly isn't fat, but she isn't fit enough to be wearing that outfit in front of however many million people watch that thing. While I agree that she looks better than most women with two kids, if you're going to shake your ass in your underwear on a stage, you need to look a lot better. If you aren't sporting the body of a fitness instructor, you should probably wear more clothes.
Of course, if you're performing on a show/network marketed towards preteens, you should be wearing more clothes anyway.

she used to have that dancers body. in that context she is over weight and out of shape.

If she feels fine with herself, SHE IS PERFECT.

+1
Had she been wearing some clothing (beyond just shiny underwear), I think the only problem with her performance would have been her crappy lip syncing and dance moves. While I don't think she looked fat per se, she certainly didn't pull off the "sexy" look.
BTW, is there any room left under that rock Storm?
