Aww, only for subscribers. Gotta love FilePlanet. :(

Anyway, apparently they'll also be releasing keys through the inCrysis foums:

- The inCrysis Beta test is separate from the FilePlanet batches
- We also have a separate beta subscription service, designed for us by IGN
- There is a limited supply of beta keys, however there will be enough to go around

Hopefully we can grab some from there.

Not this again! Oh well, not long till the demo anyway.

SS from the beta.

Download size is 1.17gb with high detail settings disabled. Probably to cut down on the filesize.

Beta videos. Look way better than the SS.

Quotes from people in the beta.

Let me tell you now, to run at the native res of my screen, it's going to need optimizing, better drivers and another 8800GTX

I've been playing it on high with 4x AA @ 1680x1050. 40-50FPS but when driving, it sometimes dips as low as 30fps.

E6850 @ 3.8Ghz
2GB PC6400
8800GTX (630/1000)

I will say, I'm finding the MP to be a lot of fun.
I'm a little surprised. I just assumed it would be very quake-ish. It's not.

Oh dear. :D

A bug has been found already in the beta. Apparently when you change the video settings to a higher level it resets back to low detail.

I would be interested what pc does one need for a normal resolution 1280 or even 1024?

All depends on what video settings you want and what FPS is acceptable to you.

By the way juneau, that is not a bug. It is intentional that set the settings that way. they want to hear bugs about the game play and not about graphics.

Hmmmm. I've heard off people that if you set it to high and apply the settings enough times they eventually stick. :)

I have a key and will check it out tonight or tomorrow, but since there's an NDA (on a Fileplanet beta? That's gonna be real effective. ) if I tell you anything, I'll have to kill you. :D

Crap?? So far it is nothing like QW, BF2142 beta. According to people, another forum (yes they have broken NDA agreement), today's release has good improvements. I want to post screen shots here but do not want to get in trouble.

Please explain crap???

So far what I am hearing I am happy that I prepurchased the game already.

Lots of stuff - you would need to scroll through pages.

Well guys I think the choppiness is related to cpu/usage and ram. I'm running 2g's of ram but the game chops much like BF2 did when that first came out. I'm guessing that 2+ gigs will be needed to run this game as smooth as we'd like.

On the other hand the graphics are simply amazing. Best yet on any PC game and will rival that of what UT3 will show us. I'm actually quite amazed I'm getting 30+ FPS with my single 7950gt. Not to mention they didn't leave out many details. Not sure If I can talk about that though so I won't.

At least you got to play. I couldn't even connect to a server last night, and all of them I tried only had a handful of players, all listed as <connecting> for their name.

Played it last night. played with 2 as well. Will try it with 4 when I get a chance. Graphics are awesome. Had a hard time getting a frag :D

How do you climb????

MajorDeath
18th Sep 2007, 01:37 PM
When you walk up to a ladder you'll see a little "climb" Icon. Thats when you press your "USE" key. Its set to "F" by default. Use the same key to open and close doors and enter/exit vehicles.

I have yet to join a server where people are actually playing the game. Instead most people are just wandering around looking at all the pretty stuff and figuring out how to use all the gadgets and what not. There is a pretty steep learning curve. The game is choppy for most people as well so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.

There were a couple of Crysis Beta servers up about a week ago that had the Dynamic Time of Day enabled!

It was so cool to play through the day into the night and then watch the sunrise come up !!!!

Beta folks are currently on version 3 of the Crysis Beta client.

My Specs :

X6800 Quad Core
Geforce 8800gtx
4 gigs
Vista 64

Will post the FPS when I get a chance.

Let me know what you get I'd be interested in comparing specs

x6600 quad core (OCed to 1333x9 or a QX6850 Extreme)
Geforce 8800GTX (mine is the stock oced 630,1000,1350) card
4gigs of OCZ ram and 4gigs of ready boost
Vista 64

BTW how do I pull up my FPS on the crytek engine (which I loved in Farcry but the net code sucked)

Aidan

Goat,

In Far Cry, you would use the parameter r_displayinfo = 1 to display HUD stats. Maybe it is the same for Crysis.

When I run the Crysis Beta V3, I use the video detect button in the System Settings portion of the game lobby. After scanning, this returns a recommendation of medium settings. I use these settings. Here are my rig specs.

--------------------- Begin Rig Specs

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 @ 2.77GHz, Dual ATI X1900 XTX in Crossfire, Catalyst Control Center V7.9, 4GB Dram, 160GB WD Raptor, DirectX 9.0c (August 2007), Dual Boot: Win XP Pro SP2 (32 bit), Windows Vista Ultimate (64 bit)

--------------------- End Rig Specs

During game play, my FPS ranges from the high 20s to the high 80s.
