Be advised that MS has fudged up the Xbox Live update that happened earlier today. Chances are you won't be able to play the beta until that is fixed. They are supposable working on it though.

I read that they are giving out 20,000 a day all week long. Try it sometime in the morning.

Game is quite fun, and the spawn system in TDM promotes a bit of healthy teamwork (wave spawn near teammates, wherever they are). Sometimes it plops you right in the middle of a firefight, which is bad; but usually it works to reinforce your squad quite nicely.

Don't know if I'll buy it (as its very Counter Strike-ish, and that ship has definitely sailed for me). It may grow on me though....hope to play with you all in-game soon :2thumbs:

I checked the Gamespot beta signup today (Tuesday) and at 10:00 am EST they were already gone for the day (I got mine almost 2 hours later than that on Monday). So if you haven't gotten a key yet, might wanna try real early on Wednesday.

I wish the beta had a server browser though.....kept getting connected to servers in the UK (woohoo lagfest)

It wasn't just COD4 for me last night, I was connected to Live but couldn't connect to anything in Bomberman either, and I've never had a problem with that before. Maybe it's regional.

Just got done playing cod4 for the past hour... tons of fun :2thumbs:

I love the kill cam... you know in ut where you get killed and people claim you where cheating. This shows you exactly what the person who killed you saw. Its great.

Pretty fun game ill have to catch you guys on it. Lots of people playing it tonight. Not sure if mic works didn't try it.

I played a few rounds of FFA last night, it's pretty fun. Graphics are gorgeous. I just might pick this one up.

I'm glad I can finally play again. Seems they finally fixed the matchmaking problems.

Yeah, the lack of familiarity with the maps is not doing nice things to my K/D ratio. :D

I'm really enjoying this more and more as I get to know the maps better(getting more perks certainly doesn't hurt either). I think this one is a definite pickup.

team deathmatch is the best way to get points i think :) we maxed out our rank (my son and me) in 2 days :D

I also really enjoy the variety in the maps and how the play style changes depending on what map your on.

Once you learn the maps and spawn points you get a lot better at flanking the enemy as well. On one map I flanked and stabbed 6 guys in a row, all facing our main forces. :D This game will be a definite must have and I may spend more time playing it than Halo 3.

Edit: While I have had fun in the beta, I do feel like it gets old pretty fast. Could be my years of playing CS, or the fact that I'm used to larger-scale games with the BF series. Or perhaps its just anticipation for more unique titles that are coming out soon (Halo 3, UT 3, TF2).

Gotta keep in mind this is just beta and we are only seeing a little taste of whats in the full game. More weapons , more maps, more perks etc etc.
I think COD 4 will make a run at game of the year. I doubt it will beet out halo 3 :) but i think it will give h3 a run for its money.

I doubt TF2 will hold a candle to the amount of players who play cod4 and halo 3 online. But we will see.

I love the game but man do I get frustrated with it. Thing with consoles is that your more prone to have lag issues on just about every game your not hosting. I'm half tempted to pick this up for the PC rather than the xbox 360. Soo many good players out there with amazing twitch skills!

I've only run into lag once, granted I haven't played it all that much yet, but I see it in Bomberman all the time. This is the game that BF2 should've been (unless you're a tank, chopper or jet whore, since it's all infantry).

How do you shoot down choppers anyway? Normal rounds hurt it or do you need to RPG it?

Both will work. I think it takes two rpg's or a whole lot of bullets. Best thing to do is to communicate with your team and get everyone to unload a clip into it. It will go down fast as long as your team works together.

My son is one of those really good players. When is is trying he normally is the best on his team,. Im lucky to get uav up while he normal gets air strike and helicopters.

I had fun last night though... got into a knife fight with a guy.... i got owned though. We just kept going after each other with knifes.

Knives? Pfft I don't even know how to change weapons, I'm just figuring out controls on the fly. Just found the crouch button yesterday. :D

You don't have to switch to your knife. Just push in your right stick and that will make your guy lunge and stab anything in front of him. :D To change weapons you want to hit "Y' If you have a grenade launcher you have to use the D pad to switch weapon fire modes, I want to say push to the left but I could be wrong.

There is a option menu that shows you what button does what (i think).
when knifing beware people crouch and you will miss :)

Looks like there is a update to the beta... i just signed on and it says downloading gameupdate. Wonder if they raised the rank limit :?
