2142 vs 2

Which was better? BF2142 or BF2?



Battlefield 2 all the way, I kind of hate 2142, it's too boring. I only play because you guys do, and I'm excited for Cain's Lair to switch games so I don't have to play that horribly boring game to make contact with anyone.


What 2142 should have been : weapons we are currently designing.


In 2142 I'm sure that we would be able to bomb the crap out of a titan without needing those missle silos, but yet the whole game would be people flying MOAB's dominating the Earth.

i probably like 2142 a little better, but i hate the entire theme and construction of titan. probably the main reason i like 2142 better is because of the huge options for setup of your kits. now if they made a bf3 setup like 2142 for all that stuff with modern weapons i would never stop playing. i just love the fact that i can chose assault and still curry a medic pack. or i can curry all the sniper package (claymores and stuff) options but curry a fully auto ar. now if eventually you could fully customize and set up anything you want to carry (but gun add-ons be gun specific) that would be hot!

but ive been playing more bf2 than 2142 simply because like i said i absolutely hate titan with a passion. and cain doesnt run the conquest anymore (well atleast that i know of) so i get my conquest fix on 2. and i like using modern weapons.

2 all the way for sure!
2 has barely any of the problems that 2142 does, and the only real problem with 2 is jets.
Everything is better in 2, like having to shoot infantry for straight 1-2 seconds with a machine gun in 2142 instead of killing them in 0.5 secs with a PKM or G3

i perfer 2142 cause of knifing,
and i couldnt fly jets in 2 (killer with a heli and good partner though).
i also perfer tanks in 2142 it seems there is more strategy
titan is kinda annoying but the idea behind it is cool.
and the kit setups are WAY better :2thumbs:

i like parts of both. The kits of 2142 and the gameplay of 2. Now if we could make a titan esque mode in 2. Dueling aircraft carriers

The only thing i miss when i play BF2 is the spawn becon... for everything else BF2 FTW!! and PR too

I like 2142 for the emphasis on squads. You get more points for sticking with your squad and following orders. Also the squad beacons are a great addition, but as far as game play it's BF2 for sure. I just find it more fun, and a LOT less buggy, which is hard to believe.

i gonna have to say, bf2. as much i enjoyed playing titan gaining bunch of points, i think i like better the infantry combat that bf2 offer and the style of gameplay.

I got tired of BF2 right about when BF2142 came out. Unfortunately, I got tired of 2142 a lot faster. So now there is nothing, which is why I'm spending more and more time on my 360 than on my PC. Most weekends I don't even turn my PC on except maybe to check my email. :cry:

I hate the spawn beacon to be honest, it ruins the challenge of actually going in and taking stuff out while needing to stay alive.


Not to mention I always forget to equip the dang thing, and then forget to destroy it once it's unneeded

I think BF2 has a more exciting gamplay because of the modern day aspect. I like the customizable kits in 2142. Titan definitely has its flaws, but it does address the major problem I have with conquest, and that is getting so far behind early that winning is impossible. Titan games stay fun through the entire game because even if you get way behind there is still opportunity to come back and win. I like that there is more than one way to accomplish the goal.

I use to like 2142 a lot, but to me it is just broing. Don't get me wrong 2142 is where I first started the battlefield series, but bf2 is just a little more interesting right now.

Thanks guys! Stumbled onto you guys server a few days ago and have hit it a few times since. Played with a few of the CLR guys and enjoyed getting to play with some communication and structure. Been a casual player since BF2 came out.

BF2 also has better infantry play, but some of the class skills were unbalanced. I think 2142 did a better job at balancing the skill with the damage. Like, Im not a fan of the noob tube in BF2. Too easy to use and inflict maximum damage. I equate them to the assault rockets in 2142 which has a minimum range and have to have the range set. I like how the Pilium isnt guided. Takes some skill to use. I hate the parachute in 2142.

2142 is a better written game, but because its set in the future it isnt as emersive.

Ya, I still like bf2142 alot, but right now bf2 is a little more fun becauyse there is nothing like modern day carnage!!...LOL... :twisted:
