So what kind of weapons do you guys have? I'm a criminal justice major, and I'll be going into law enforcement in a year or so. This was my purchase today: A Sig Sauer P225 9mm Luger. I have night sights on the way, and a back holster.

and my trip with my friend to the range today ... I am glad about my Sig purchase.

IBM Model M

You might think I'm joking, but a good whack from that would hurt. It weighs a good 5 or 6 lbs.

As far as firearms go, I don't have any. I'm not much of a target shooter, but I could see myself getting something for home defense, a nice revolver like a S&W Model 686 with a 4" barrel. That or a katana. I'm not sure what would strike more fear into someone - a nice shiny revolver pointed in your general direction or a naked hairy man running at you with a 3 foot sword.

Funny Katana story .....

My friend dan and I drank a lot at the Rennisance festival last year, so he decided to buy a sword and I got a Katana. I got the typical made in china $10 Katana ... but dan was mighty Drunk. He spent $300 on this crazy sword! We ended up cutting down a good sized shrubbery to be sticks. Then, piled everything we hacked off on our other buddy's front porch. Our apt. complex wouldn't be very hapy with us if they figured out who it is.

Alcohol + sword = bad

Oh and I have awesome feet!

As home defense goes, you can't go wrong with a snub nosed .38 special. It would get the job done, and it's easy to carry and maintain.

Also, I use my Ruger MKIII .22 LR pistol for most of my target practice. 500 .22 LR for $7 beats the price of 9mm any day for putting holes in paper.

I dont have them in this place I am staying now, they are locked in a good friends gun closet. My father gave me his 50 Calibur black powder rifle and a 45. black powder pistol, along with a whole kit including rounds and many tools. I will try and get a picture of them, I cleaned them recently and they look really nice, the metal is bronzed, a really nice brown I think.

Glock 45. Stock trigger and sights. Could have gotten a glock 9mm w/ red dot sights and 1/4lb trigger (in other words instant pull/shot), but it won't stop somebody in it's tracks, unlike my 45. I always keep a full 13 round mag w/ hallow/point ready to go right beside the gun, just in case.

BTW, I hope you whern't shooting those hollow's for target practice. Ball ammo works just as well, with slightly less kick, and it costs a lot less...

gti420. You should to go to 147gran sub-sonic hollow points. or at lest a 124gran +P+ HP for a OK stopping ammo. I would say sale that and get a 40 S&W but the 9mm is bast if you like to shot at the rang a lot. Cheaper ammo. :D Most Dept are going to the 40 nowadays :2thumbs:

Thanks Hazz! When the zombie apocalypse hits, I know exactly who to call :o

Nice collection....most of those are illegal over here in California (except for Senators  )

No gun for me atm, though I may get one some day if I buy a house. Probably something reliable and easily serviceable, like a USP 40 or or maybe a 9mm of some sort.

I'm not a big fan of snub noses - I'd rather have something with a bit of weight. My dad has a similar 357 Mag and I really like the size, weight, and general characteristics of it. I'm a pretty big guy so wielding something like it is not a problem. 357 rounds would be a bit impractical though. I wouldn't want to fire one off in a closed area without earplugs. I like my hearing.

The 125 grain HP in the 357mag load it one of the best one shoot stop rounds in the world for a handgun. 92%

+ If you "and I pray you never" have to use it.... sound is not going to be a problem.

I plan on getting a Sig p239 in .40 S&W for my primary carry, and use this 9mm for my off duty carry.

Went to the shooting range again today and this time show a HK USP and a CZ 75 Compact as well as my Sig. I still like the Sig the best, but I was really impressed with the CZ. After much research, CZ aren't bad guns ... fairly reliable and since they're Czech they need to be able to stand up to some real abuse. I wasn't too fond of the HK ... I didn't like how it felt in my hand. And as silly as it is, when you decock it ... the sounds reminds me of my BB gun. I don't regret my Sig purchase, that's for sure.

Looks nice, but I'm pretty sure that you'll end up having to carry whatever the department issues (they tend to like to have everyone in the same rig for ease of training).

Drop me a PM when you get a chance, I happen to live in your neck of the woods.

Oh yeah, the point of the thread... I have a couple of pistols, a Thompson 1911 (.45 ACP), a Glock 17, and an Remington 870P shotgun. :D

The 870P looks a lot like the P Max, just with a few less "improvements." Here is a stock photo of the P Max.

http://www.remingtonle.com/images/shotguns/870pmax.jpg

The only thing that I can see that is different is it has a better light and a better stock.

turned 18 a few months ago but still wont be able to get any firearms grade weapons till i get my own place...

i do have a very nice katana (super sharp works wonders) a crappy stainless steel katana, about 30 or so various knives, including a stiletto knife (still looking for a switchblade). 3 pellet guns (decent pistol, cheap rifle, about a $350 other rifle) but those are almost never taken out cause the dog keeps the rodents outa the yard.

and the biggest weapon i have are my two fists and the guns behind them

:slap:I have a shuriken, some crazy ridiculous dagger, REALLY sharp, but very hard to use, some samurai sword, good metal, but bad connection to the hilt, so wacking too many heads would break it. I will try and get a photo of all of these things, and the black powder guns soon.
