View Full Version : Considering hanging it up

Well after going 4-24 last night, I'm thinking about hangin it up with BF3. What with all the glitches, hacks, and EA not making it easy for admins, it just reaches a point where you say whats the use. Getting killed by glitchers and hackers is just so tiring that it takes away all the enjoyment.

It just isnt any fun when others ruin it for everyone. Some of these people have an IQ that matches their shoe size and no gamesmanship whatsoever. There are some good folks on here that know how to have fun. But even that is getting diluted.

I might find something else to play, dont know what I'm gonna do. But I think I'll leave this one alone for now. You guys have fun if you can. :wave1:

I've decided to play other things until BF3 releases a new set of maps, pretty much for the same reasons you've expressed.

and EA not making it easy for admins,

It's very easy for admins (There is even a very stable version of B3 released). It's just that lots of things are unkickable/banable in Cain's book. (We aren't going into that either)

But have fun in whatever other game you like. I'll still be here, being a bawss.

Yeah, it was good playing with you Phantom. You and I are in the same boat. Since I've had so much college work lately, I haven't had the time to go on and play BF3. Anytime I do get spare time I'll hop in for about 15 minutes, see a few hackers or suspicious people and just leave the game.

I remember when we used to play Bad Company 2, everyone was on Teamspeak. We had loads of fun with that game. The only thing we had to worry about back then were those pesky snipers. Snipers aren't really as bad in this game is it was in Bad Company 2. Now we've got to contend with hackers all over the place.

Remember the days when you could play a certain game and you wouldn't get certain people on it? I think with the new games coming out you'll see people jump from their game to another. For example, with Star Wars the Old Republic, you've got people coming from World of Warcraft. Diluting the game completely with people intentionally trying to troll channels.

Now you've got people from Combat Arms coming to BF3 to hack their way into the servers and ruin every single game. If it wasn't for the amount of hacking programs, we could just single them out and get rid of them, but it's like a damn virus scan. You have to keep it running.

Too bad we can't make the server exclusive to people that we know. I'm sure Cain's Lair alone on a good night could fill the server quick. Which is what I'm wondering. If all of Cain's Lair gets in the server on a particular night, if the possibility of a hacker coming in would be greatly reduced.

Then we could all jump on TS like the good old days and have some good clean fun!

Cobalt, a couple of games before that I congratulated you on your 2nd place on a full team with like a score of 4,850 or so. That last round was getting late and you were trying to cap points when few others were, and I was cruising in a tank trying to clear the back out so folks could move in, which is why I got some points (and because Devilguns was patching the thing for me, thank you DG).

Point is, when I think of who I'd want in a squad, yours is the first name that comes up. So what's Skud gonna do if you quit?

I know how Cobalt feels. I haven't touched BF3 in over 5 weeks. DICE did a really terrible job with this games release. Lots of potential and fun game play, just too many problems.

personally the game is fine for me. Its the people I play with and the good fights I can have.
I expect 1 round out of 3 to be fun, other then that I make my fun while ignoring as much of the asshats around me.

I think there is a burn out period with any game and overplaying will destroy the game for someone.

A shout out goes to qicmee last night for solfaming it up on TS with me.

I also will read a book for one good chapter.

Oh wait, those AA guys is just as bad over there. And now it seems all the dedicated servers are running 99999999xp

Skudman, you're my favorite player. There was some stuff going on last night that was just a symptom of the game. Everyone tries to treat the symptoms but nobody addresses the disease.

And no reflection on you and DG. You guys were doin your jobs. Didnt even think about that. It's just the overall stuff that I dont want to deal with anymore. The disease has just got me down is all.

I'll be around. If I find something worth playin I'll let you know.
It's been a good run on this one.

I was on with Cobalt last night and even losing our squad was capping and defending. I had fun even if we did lose. :D

that sucks Cobalt, I really like killing you, just as much as I like playing by your side.

I always try to have fun even if our team is getting rape. You can't control your team so at least focus on yourself doing your part and even if you lose, you'll feel good about your performance :)

Perfectly said, Luis! I pretty much feel the same way. You just do it with a few more kills than me.

Yeah that sucks Cobalt. I'm going to miss the your constant sound of urgency on TS :D
I hope some do stick around though. A lot of people are leaving BF3. Seems like this game had a short run.
Does anyone still run BF2 servers?

As long as I'm in a good squad I usually don't mind, even if we lose. If we are getting hammered so bad our squad can't do crap then it sucks... Overall, though, I still enjoy playing BF3, especially if I can get in a squad with a few of you guys in TS.

It's funny. 64 people, and out of that massive amount of people...

Maybe 6 are willing to play as a team

Sorry to hear your hanging up your guns on this one. Don't let a few losers ruin it. I have to admit it was frustrating as hell last night, my bullsh*t meter was on overdrive lol. Always a pleasure squading up with you. Your presence and commentary will be missed. Definitely give us a heads up if you find something.

Dude, I don't know what to say! Everytime I get in game and I see you, Skug, DG or any of the other CLRs playing I keep hoping I get on the same team so I can try and get in the same squad. A few times I've been lucky enough to accomplish it.

Thing is I really Love playing this game, but the @ssh@ts make it such a chore to focus on accomplishing the goal. Even though I try and push on knowing everyone is just doing their own thing sometimes.

I have often thought I would love to have two squads of CLRs on TS that have practiced together and know the routine and signals to work together in a big 8 man squad and just walk thru the enemy without a single casualty.

Anyway, I'll miss you in game bro. :2thumbs:

maybe its just me, but I like when I am not on the CLR squaded team so I can go against them.

I blame Dice for this design flaw in the game. The lack of an easy way to have squad communication and lack of a commander makes it difficult to spread the team spirit around.

There will always be a cheat in other games but i respect you Cobalt, if u want to quit than do that, i understand..but at the same time u let those guys win over u.. Cobalt (don't give it to them, just kick their butt!) when i play players vs players i know i am gonna die a lot and question is how.. but u will kill some to u know... hope my peep talk did the trick..

First time i played Hardcore on BF3 i was like omg i constant died haha whatever i did someone was there before me, while i was running or standing still.. and when i was new to the game geez.. amount of deaths in the game..

But what comes for BF3 is that will be a problem same was with BF2 too some got fixed. Will always be something for whatever kind of game.
I really hope DICE and EA do something about it...i am pretty sure they don't wanna lose the hardcore of players that loves BF3..

I like to hangout with my friends for rounds in BF3, the laugh, the good times and bad times, kill and kill and dying.. one time i got 28 -28 haha oh well.. i had worse round believe me.. but i never give up.. i go and knife em.. haha :D

Anyway i hope we can catch some rounds Cobalt :D
If not is cool.. let me know what games you will play and i join u..I love to mix from game to game! :D
