I'm not here to seek drama, but I'm just saying my farewells, although I might stick on the forums and MIGHT play BF3 once in a full moon.
Anyways, I've decided to quit this game completely. I could make a long list of reasons why, but here are my main ones.
- This game fell well short of (my) expectations. I honestly regret getting it over CoD, although I likely wouldn't play CoD much at all. I guess I just prefer that gameplay.
- The BF3 community is almost as bad as the WoW community. Too many asshats, and to many people telling me to go play CoD if I have a legitimate complaint. I'm also sick of the CoD bashing I see everywhere that game is brought up, all by BF3 players. If it wasn't for Cain's Lair, I would have quit on day 1.
- Skyrim is taking too much of my time, and I haven't even touched Gears of War 3 since BF3 and Skyrim have came out. Now, if I get sick of Skyrim, I'd much rather go play GoW3 over BF3.
- I mainly bought BF3 as a filler for Guild Wars 2, and forgot how much I dislike FPS games these days. I also expected BF3 to be more like BF2, but it's not, and it's far from it.
- EA and DICE are two companies that have lost my trust multiple times over and over again. Even though Epic Games has lost my trust multiple times, they can still create a game I enjoy. BF3 seems cool, but everytime I play it, find myself frustrated and angry, and I continue to play it to try to get on the right track.
-The gameplay I liked to play in BF2 simply isn't in BF3, and it'll take years for EA/DICE to fix those problems. EA/DICE also never fix REAL problems and waste their time trying to satsify elitists and ban cheaters/hackers (which I still see constantly when I play).
-I overall am just not having any fun with the game. And if you're not having fun with a game, you shouldn't play it, thus I decided not to.
Anyways, I have nothing against people that play the game (except the asshats). Some people prefer it, I just simply don't. I'll have fun playing Skyrim, ACR, GoW3, and eventually GW2. And now that I am working a lot due to the season, and that the NBA is finally back, I don't see myself ever logging into a game unless I'm hanging with my 2 friends that also bought it (and that has really yet to happen).
Anyways, just thought you guys should know that one main reason I pre-ordered this game was to rejoin the lair and have some good times. That did come true, but BF3 makes it hard to play with friends without VOIP and limited squads. It was when I started squading up and using VOIP that I got into BF2, and without that, this game hardly feels like a Battlefield game. I also don't see EA/DICE ever fixing any of the major problems of this game, at least for a long time from now.
I'd still like to participate on the forums, but my activity has certainly died down since I picked up Skyrim.
