Can anyone reccomend any benchmarking software that I could download off the internet? I would like to see how well my computer performs. Any suggestions, because I am a noob at this.

a few others:
SuperPI & Orthos Beta are good stress testing/benchmarking utilities. good for verifiying good ram, cpu, mobo combos. more along the lines of stability testing for Orthos, and superpi works both ways as a benchmarking and a data integrity(stability) app.
i can't find the link to the video card program juneau posted a while back, but that was a good one for benching the video card as well.
3dmark is a great test for the entire system. just remember. it is a benchmarking app, not an real indicater of real world performance.
HDTach - testing hard drives.
