Anyone planing to get it? My friends are planing to get it. Lot of hype going around. I enjoy the single player in the Gears of War 2. But I hate the multiplayer.

Yep, I have it preordered. I loved gears 2 when i had it. If you want to give multiplayer a shot there is a mode where the 4 of you just face waves and waves of enemies. I preferred that over TDM.

They had something called host advantage in GoW & the sequel. I really dont know why they did this, and no one else ever seemed to know either, but everyone I ever met that considered themselves a gears player insisted on its existence.
You could actually see a difference in the hosts character/weapon model. When he/she threw smoke grenades, the grenade would actually spin and flip around in its flight, as opposed to just kind of hanging in one animation the whole path.
They did extra damage with all weapons, and had more health. If you ever came across a guy and you were sure you shot(and hit) him just as much if not more than he did you, but he still got you, it was probably host advantage. The lancer was the most obvious weapon with it, the host lancer hit like a freaking hammerburst, but, it was a lancer. So unfair.
