View Full Version : We have lost a dear friend

Our friend Dennis Brown, "DennisM7" one of our Game Administrators passed away last Friday after a short illness.

He was one of our most liked and respected Admins. His good temperament and positive attitude were enjoyed and appreciated by all who knew him.

He leaves behind a wife and two small children.

He loved on-line gaming and found us playing Battlefield 2, and stuck around ever since.

Dennis loved his family and watching hockey and football.

He was a Master Sergeant, U.S. Air Force 18+ years, Network Infrastructure Technician.

Around here in BC2 he was a BRIGADIER GENERAL II -- Dennis{CLR} (http://bfbcs.com/stats_pc/Dennis%7BCLR%7D), and more importantly our dear friend.

I would appreciate all of you posting in this thread with remembrances of Dennis, condolences for his wife and children, stories of gaming with him and reminders of the fun and fellowship we all shared with him.

May God Bless Dennis, and his family.

"Funeral services for Master Sargent Dennis R. Brown will be held Friday, July 29 at Kent Forrest Lawn in Panama City, FL at 10:00 a.m. "

--------

We will always miss you Dennis, thank you for sharing your time and spirit with us here at Cain's Lair - we will never forget you...

I never met Dennis in real life but he was a true gentleman in every sense of the word within the Cain's Lair Community.
He was always helpful and never lost his temper with the games or the people.
I will miss his posts in the forums and gaming with him.

This is a great loss for the Cain's Lair community, and no doubt a much bigger loss for his family and real-life friends fortunate enough to know Dennis for a longer time. We'll miss him here, and his fun posts and gameplay.

Never met the guy, but it always sucks hearing about this type of thing.

His family will be in my thoughts.

May he RIP, he seems like one of the few players here that not only didn't fight or argue with others but actually avoided these situations.

He was always calm and level headed and although I, like many of you, only knew him in game it is a shame to see a guy that I'm sure was as much of a gentlemen in real life as he was in game pass away.

May the Lord bless him and his family, they will be in my prayers.

I too remember him from the BF2 days. It's a sad loss and my thoughts go out to his family.

I do remember him well in game. He was one sneaky son of a gun. He could sneak into the back of a capture point and it seemed no matter how many times I spawned on him and was killed by the enemy he was still able to hide back there. I had no idea how he did it.

Thanks Dennis for the times on the lair and your service to your country.

My heart goes out to his family and friends. Like most everyone else, I never had the chance to meet Dennis. He was always fun to talk to on team speak and of course, even funner to team up with. Even though I got to know him through his posts, I knew he was outstanding guy. He will be missed.

I've never met him either but I really respected him. One of my favorite people to chat with on the Lair. I extend my deepest sympathies to his family. The support and love of the Lair are with them. Rest easy soldier. You deserve it and thank you for your service to our country and this forum.

you have seriously got to be kidding me. Dennis was a great person and great person to know and game with.

Just recently in the past year we started talking a little more personally, and from what i learned about him, he was a very kind and good man.

This is so sad, I was just talking to him a month or two ago about his back problems.

He will forever be missed and he definitely deserves a place in the Cains Lair history books. This news has seriously saddened me.

:sad::sad:

It was a shock that from diagnosis to death was so very quick.

Knew and played with Dennis for years, which makes this all the more painful, as he was a great guy.

My heart goes out to his wife and kids.

I haven't been around much BUT

Please, make no mistake about it, I feel this loss as much as anyone here. Most have posted they have never met Dennis in RL but that's not entirely true. If you played in-game with Dennis you KNEW him and the type of person he was.

With social networking these days there is really no difference in the amount of sadness as opposed to actually meeting him in RL.

This is devastating news and my thoughts are with his family.

You will be missed buddy, and yeah I can find a "control center room in blue, with a bunch of screens, and AF logo and a guy at a screen and ..."

( he cracked me up with that request for a signature tag ) I was honored he wore the tag I made for him.

It is always sad to come back from an extended leave and to find out a friends and comrade such as Dennis is gone. I wouldn't say I knew Dennis well but I do remember talking in the forums and playing some BF2 with him. May he rest in peace and may peace find his family.

Dang, I remember gaming with him back in BF2. Was a great player. I remember quite a few people here, it has been awhile, but I do remember some great games with Dennis. Sad to hear he left us. I lost my grandparents about a year ago. One to breast cancer and the other to Alzheimer's. I also lost a friend to Lymphoma who was 18, so I take this pretty hard as well. When I joined the forums again last night, I was looking for everyone I remembered, and was trying to find Dennis but happened to find this post instead.

RIP man. Thank you for serving our country as well. You'll be missed, I already missed you when I left the Lair. You family and friends are in my prayers for sure.
