A recent post by Bacon has me wondering how many other brewers do we have here. I know Paceman is so that makes three that I can remember, anyone else? I would love to exchange recipes with anyone. :2thumbs:
I have been a hard core brewer in the past but my current living situation makes it a huge pain to set up my elaborate brewing setup so I have been out of it for a couple of years but when my living situation cahnges in the near future In plan on not only getting back into it but getting the mother of all brewing setups.
Here is the only shot I could find of my setup from a brewing session back in the BF2 days.

But what I want to do is to get one of theses bad boys.

The 1550 comes with 15 Gallon Kettles, but any of the three kettles can be later enlarged to the 26 gallon size.
Wow.
I'm slowly getting into brewing, only on my 5th(I think) batch.I've stuck with the wheat beers mainly, just because that is what I like to drink :D
I have a lemon honey wheat going right now, trying to make it a lighter beer since I will be going on a float trip with me in late June.
Broke my freakin hydrometer this morning unfortunately. It was in its case and everything, i just bumped it with my elbow and it exploded when it hit the floor. Whats the point of a protective case if it doesnt work! :pissed:

I made a batch of porter once, but it was just a premade kit. It was good, though it wouldn't have become anything without the help of my brother and his equipment (plus he gave me the kit).

Yeah those Hydrometers are easy to break, Just don't bottle it too early or oyu will get some exploding bottles.
That's one heck of a brother Skud, a free beer kit, sweet. :2thumbs:

Brewing always seemed like too much effort to me. I like my beers to come in bottles with San Miguel written on the side. :D

I would love to try brewing my own beer. Beer is one of my favorite things.

That's kind of why that kit was a one time shot for skuddo. :D

You aren't the first one to say something like this.:D

Would something like this be worth getting? Or am I better of buying stuff individually?

You will need a boilpot, and it never hurts to have extra sanitizer on hand.

Go to this site and price out the parts individually to see if you are getting a good deal or not, some places aren't offering that great of a deal. I would also look for a local place that you can drive to to, thees places are often run by people who will offer help with your first batch and it's always nice to be able to run down and buy something if you break a hydrometer or something. I buy the larger ticket items online after much research then I use my local guy for most of the ingredients.
I compare this site to newegg except it's for brewers.

I don't have much time to look into this today but soon I will pick through that kit and see what it has. If you go to a store know that brewers can be very opinionated just like PC builders.

Devilguns, before running out and grabbing a kit you can get a bunch of information here. This way you can shop with a bit of knowledge. :2thumbs:

I brewed one batch in college with my roommate. Turned out ok but it was a lot of work. Always wanted to try again, just never had the time. Loves me some beer...
