View Full Version : Spiderman 3: is it the last Spiderman movie?

Well, the movie kind of left me hanging. The ending didn't really share anything about it being the last movie or not. What do you think?
I personally hope it is NOT the last. The ending sucked in number 3, and left us hanging. Through-out the movie it had drama with Peter Parker and Mary-Jane Watson, and the ending should really nothing about their future.

after the way that last one played they better have a another one make up for it...
maybe add a comical character like "Mysterio"
OR
add the spawn of the symbiote "Carnage"

Thing is if there is another one, it wont be out for like 5 years. Spiderman 1 came out about 6 years ago, spiderman 2 about 3 years ago...

Here's what one of my friends think. Told me on aim
i heard the actors were reconsidering another one even though they already said no, because they threatened to use other actors and then the movies would suck, so they may make another one

The only news on this front is that Kirsten Dunst was quoted as saying she won't do 4 unless Sam and Tobey were involved. And MJ is such a non-factor in these movies that nobody is going to care about that. Sam and Tobey have not said anything yet. Even more disturbing than a Spiderman 4 in some ways is that the current rumors are Sam is going to direct The Hobbit.
Hopefully he won't. That will suck without Peter Jackson, Ian McKellen, and WETA.

NOT GONNA HAPPEN. (http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=3&id=39462)
I have yet to see Spidey 3, though the reviews are not encouraging me. I might break down and go see it after the crowds thin out once Pirates 3 is released.

I've known that Jackson was blacklisted since before this article (in the link) came out. But you missed the part about the time-frame. Shortly (in movie time), New Line loses the rights. That's why they're trying to get the Hobbit in development so quickly.
But if they don't make it, I guarantee someone else will, and Peter will be at the top of the directing list. As he should be.

It was worth watching but could have waited for dvd.
The Venom story was VERY disapointing!!!!!! I was very surprised to see Stan Lee as the producer and that he let the story fall as far as it did. I always thought that Spiderman was his baby.
Thats why I have said for a while that Bryan Singer is the only one who should be allowed to make mainstream comic movies. X-Men rocked until that douchebag Brett Ratner got his filthy hands on it.
FYI - Bryan Singer directed the first two X-Men, Superman, The Usual Suspects, and Produces House :D
Brett Ratner, the director os X-3, directed the Rush Hour Movies :|
Sam Raimi, the Director of the Spiderman movies, is a schwag director that hasn't directed a descent movie since 1993 with Army of Darkness, which explains the Bruce Campbell cameo in S3.
Which is what makes me wonder why people like:
Mark Steven Johnson was allowed to direct Ghost Rider after he did Daredevil.
This might be my all time favorite. Tim Story directed Barbershop 2 and Taxi, and they let him do The Fantastic Four. Then he ruined that and they are letting him do The Rise of the Silver Surfer. :?
Why do they keep getting these reject directors to do comic movies?
Morons. They think that because the movie is based on a comic book that they must be dealing with bunch of kids and idiots.
I want to see someone like Clint Eastwwod, Ron Howard, Paul Greengrass, or Martin Scorsese start directing some comic movies, if they would do it, to bring in a little cred to the comic genre.
Ok, I am done with my rant. :D

We'll see a Spider-man 4,5, and 6 for sure. The rookie years should be over, and hopefully we'll see a more confident and down right brave Peter Parker. Spider-man should be a more skilled crime fighter, and should have more quick wit and funny one liners. I love it when he taunts his enemies. How about a better spider sense indication.
I learned from a source that Sandman and Venom would be the villains in Spider-man 3, well before it was announced. Well this same source tells me that the villains in the next movie will be The Lizard and Carnage. I hope they do this next series better.

I agree fully if they make another Carnage has to be in there. Hes already insane. Then with the symbiote. That would be a great spiderman movie. Also did anyone else think that they should have had mary jane actually sing her songs. The cover up was really bugging me

a couple of notes...
While I haven't seen the 3rd movie yet, the first 2 grossed $706 MILLION total. I'd say he did something right.
Also, Bruce Campbell and Ted Raimi (Sam's brother) have appeared in all 3 films. (Director's trademark)

Bruce Campbell was in the first two? I don't remember seeing him. Ok, your right, I see them on his filmography.
I'm not saying that they didn't do anything right, obviously they did from a financial perspective. But the plan that motion picture studios use is to appeal to as many people as they can, which is fine, but they don't have to lose as much in translation.
Look at the X-men movies as an example:
X-Men grossed - $157,299,717
X-Men United grossed - $214,948,780
X-Men the Last Stand grossed - $234,360,014
The second movie had a huge increase in gross income and is commonly reguarded as the best comic movie made, which can be argued by personal taste, but you can't argue that it was a well done. THe huge spike in gross income can be attributed to increase in fan base, word of mouth if you will.
The third movie was about 20 million more gross and can most likely be attributed to the success of the first two movies, especially the second. But the third movie was butchered.
The first two movies were different from the comics, obviously you can't fit decades of material and history in a few hours, but the changes that they made can be at least considered tasteful. When Brett Ratner got his filthy hands on it he threw all that the cast and crew had worked hard on for the past few years out the window. You could even see it in the casts faces during interviews. They said that it was a great movie, but you could tell that they didn't feel it.
When Bryan Singer does a movie he doesn't try to change it. Look at Superman. You might not like Superman but personally I grew up with the old Christopher Reeves Superman movies. I remember when I saw Superman returns I was extatic that he tried to keep the movie in line with the others. He didn't try to change them or start over, he just kept it going. The beginning of the movie brought up so much nostalgia with the openning theme, the tour throught outer space, and even the lettering was the same as the 80's movies.
My point is that you can gross money, introduce a new fan base, and keep the old school fans happy at the same time. You just don't need to take people for idiots. Let these people go back to their Summer Popcorn movie making and pay attention to more than money.

Spiderman 1 and 2 were GREAT movies. this last one sucked because it had almost no awesome moves such as him dodging things or doing cool tricks in the air, and was small in fighting scenes. He practically didn't even touch Venom to "beat him up"
If they aren't making a 3rd one they BETTER redo this one.

there was that part where he was dodging the rubble to catch that girl whos name i can't remember. That was pretty cool. but with the venom part i totally agree. Venom is basically his arch nemesis, they should have been duking it out through out the whole movie like in the first one with green goblin.

sigh... don't wanna give it away but SUPPOSIBLY venom CANNOT die, or at least he reappears in each show of the cartoon version.
Remember the Physician who was researching the "venom?" he still has some of it....

I took my son to see Spidey 3. What made it hard for me to watch was that I had a full blown case of the flu when I took him. I got through it.
Anyway....
I actually liked it. Not as much as the other two, the second being my favorite, but I liked it. His fight sequence with Hobgoblin wasn't bad although it was nothing like the one he had with Doc Octopus on the subway in the second movie.
To this point, the only hero movies I didn't like were "Hulk," which was simply aweful and the latest "Superman" flick. Sorry, but Christopher Reeve will always be Superman in my book.

i think the only reason the hulk was crap was because he didn't come out until the second half of the movie and he only fought the army except for like 2 minutes against his dad. They gotta throw in another crazy thing like the hulk and let them duke it out while the military shoots them. That would be a good hulk movie. :2thumbs:
