Hey all,
Yesterday when I bought and downloaded cod4, it said it was 100% - Ready on the status in the 'my games' in steam. When I clicked launch, the little window with 'preparing to launch call of duty 4: modern warfare' would come up and nothing would happen, even after like 5 minutes,..... so I searched around on the intrawebs and apparently other peoples were having this problem too. If you run into this the steps to fix are:

1) Right click on cod4 in the my games and go to properties
2) Go to Local Files Tab
3) Click verifty integrity of game cache

After I did this it also had to install the directx and update punkbuster automatically, so I'm not sure if that had something to do with it.... anyways it worked!
