Oh great, now I get to cushion another person's bullets. Just kidding...

It's pretty simple really. As you'll soon find out, there's no bullet drop. The only thing with noticeably limited range is the shotgun. There's a lot of nade spam. And that's about it... ;)

You mean, there's no kick when you shoot ??

Hmm? Yes, there is. But that doesn't stop you from shooting controlled bursts half way across the map. ;)

As far as weapons go, they all have their pros and cons. Just play around with them until you find one you like.

Single player is nothing like Multiplayer. Just dive in at the deep end and play online with us. :D

I had it in my hands at Best Buy, but after I saw they rasised the price from $40 to $50, I put it back.
That last $10 I had to spend for the week was not going to this game ... maybe mext week after I get paid.

You can cook nades before you throw, highly recommended. Other than that i would play single player on one of the harder modes.

Ohh Rand !! Do you recall my previous purchase from Circuit Chitty ??? If not, check the posts from a month back on my rant over purchasing Crysis but .... long story,... and after 3 (!!!) return trips to CC, I finally got my $$ back and gave up on buying from them aver again.

God does not want me to have this game ...

I got it for Christmas from my Mother-in-Law! :D I've installed it but haven't had a chance to play yet as our house is currently full of relatives. Hopefully I'll be able to get in in the next few days.

If anyone still doesn't have it, try Target. I had a 20 buck card there and was going to use that toward my purchase. Turns out there was an UNADVERTISED sale on the game that brought it down to $37.99. :2thumbs:

Course, my profit margin was blown because I also bought Mario and Sonic at the Olympics so I had a game my wife would play also, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out about that deal after payment.

ooo don't forget muzzle flash. its almost blinding!

Pretty simple rules of thumb.

Don't stand in doors. It blocks people from entering or leaving,
(Or running to avoid a Nade), and it makes you a prime target.
Even laying down in a route or doorway will block people.

Most spawn points are nade attractors. MOVE. People will blind toss
nades into spawn point areas for the easy kills.

A popular choice, especially for new players, is the M203 (Newb Tube).
You can send a shell a LONG way, and it is a 1 shot kill if you get shot
with one. (I.E. before it lands and explodes) You get 2 shells to play with.

You can "Cook" your nade before you throw it. Normally, it will land,
roll for abit, then explode. This gives people time to run away or
throw it back. You can hold the nade for up to 3 seconds and throw it.
The nade explodes on contact. No evasion. Hold it more than 3 seconds,
and you will TK yourself... lol The higher the arc, the longer distance
you can throw it. Jumping while throwing actually increases the distance.
You can bounce nades off of door jambs

You CAN shoot through walls with Deep Penetration perk. The heavier
the caliber, the more effective this is. One of my favorites, is equip the
M60 on Vacant map, and shoot through the walls at people clustered up
wanting to kill me.

Muzzle flash can be pretty distracting. Some guns have a lot more
kick than others, which will throw your aim off if bursting.

KILL those choppers. Gunships are a royal pain. Shoot them down. 1 RPG
will kill it, but ANY gun can eventually shoot it down. The longer it is
flying around, the more people it is going to kill. (Including you)

Aerial strikes can kill you even inside buildings, but much more unlikely.

Snipers are alive and well in COD4. You can LOOK through windows, but
don't doddle. Even just the top of your head is enough of a target for
most snipers, as they are constantly scanning for anything to shoot.

You will find your favorite gun or guns pretty quickly. Getting X amount
of kills with a certain weapon will unlock red dot sight, silencers, grips,
ACOG scope, and different camo patterns. Shotguns are VERY close
range, but are nasty customers on certain maps.

Even SMG's can kill you from pretty far away. Don't feel that you are
Safe because you are out of the theoretical range.

I use VOIP to spot targets, snipers, etc, for the team. A Lot of people
never use VOIP until the end of the round. Your choice. When the
UAV scanner isn't on, it is nice to know that there is someone on the
2nd floor of XXYY building owning the area.

Have Fun.
