definantly.
Its edited, see the guy who got his arm broke? it didn't bend the way it would in real life, and not to mention he got up 5 seconds later and was throwing punches with it.

I actually think that footage was taken in a single shot. Remember, the question wasn't if it was real or staged (i.e. the guys arm didn't bend like it was broken because it was not actually broken), but whether the original footage was edited or not. It's clearly staged, but I think they did a really good job of coordinating the stunts and having the different actors enter/exit on cue. They added sound effects, but I think the video is unedited.
This reminds me a lot of the amazingly long one-shot scene from Children of Men where he goes into the building looking for the girl and her baby. Little trivia: in Children of Men it's actually 4 shots cleverly edited together to look like one super-mega long continuous shot.

....but she wouldn't give it to me.
I'm more impressed with the cameraman than the fighting...he had to be exhausted.

if you guys think that is impressive you have to check out a film called the russian ark. The entire film is shot in one take and has thousands of extras....amazing...
i saw it and liked it but you'd have to be into art house foreign films that are subtitled.

I don't think it was editted, but of course staged, otherwise I'd beat the crap out of the camara man.

i voted edited because of the sound. "unedited" title meant nothing was done to the movie took it out of the camera and put it in the VCR. there was clearly sound effects added and enhancing of sound. great find though

This is from the 2005 Thai movie "Tom Yum Goong," known in North America as "The Protector." ref: http://www.us.imdb.com/title/tt0427954/
And yes, this whole 4 or so minute sequence was done in a single take (no editing in that the single camera started rolling and didn't stop until they were finished... no other cameras used). It took them a long time to set it up and get it to work right when filming it, but it is a very impressive accomplishment. From what I've seen, I think it's the most challenging long take I've seen in film.
If you think the Camera crew was tired, just imagine howTony Jaa felt by the time he got to the top of the steps. He's one hardcore action star who does all of his own stuff. Great action flick!

I must have watched this film a thousand times. :D
My favourite fight scene is this. Check the jump at 1:20s! It's like watching the matrix without the wires.

Haha, we had a kid in my martial arts class that could kick that high. I nearly fell on my face when I tried it once. :(
