It's the end of summer and we are having my parents over for one last summer feast.
Appetizer:
Chip and a double batch of my favorite guacamole.
Shrimp cocktail with a smoked Chile cocktail sauce.
I got this one from a Bobby Flay cook book. It really has an amazing flavor.
1.25 cups ketchup
2 Tbs fresh lime juice
6 pink radishes, finely diced (I use red because I have never seen a pink one.)
1 large shallot
1 Tbs purees canned chipotle in adobo
2 Tbs prepared horseradish, drained
1 tsp honey
3 Tbs finely chopped cilantro
salt and pepper to taste.
The entree
Steamed lobster, corn on the cob and a salad.
Desert and apple crisp made from the apple my wife and kids picked earlier today.
If the wind calms down a campfire with smores may happen as well.
Whats everyone else having?

WOW! Nice, Duke! :2thumbs:
For lunch, we went to Subway and got takeout and took it to the park to have a little picnic. Don't try their new 'HOT/SPICY' subs... nothing spicy at all about them. Was good, but I was disappointed at the level of spice... or lack of spice, rather.
Not sure what the evening meal will be yet. I have a 20% off coupon for O'Charley's, might go out.

I tried one a few weeks ago and I thought the exact thing, it was good but not spicy.

Bratwurst. I've just been informed we're having bratwurst, although she claims she told me about it this morning. I had to pretend like I remembered she told me about that so I didn't get the "you never listen to anything I say" talking point. :D
Getting ready to make fire and cook meat in a few. :2thumbs:
