Best shooter I've played in a long time.
For what it is, it's flawless. I wish this team could get their hands on the Battlefield franchise so we could experience this beautiful, polished experience with Battlefield's more tactical play.

I wouldn't say I love it, but it's definently worth the 50 bucks. If you don't like the multiplayer, the campaign is sure fun! It may be short, but very difficult (if you have it on those settings).
I'd recommend it to everyone that likes FPS, but there are some flaws about the game, IE nade spamming. I didn't think it'd be THIS BAD

Im sorry but any fps game with about 50 players is gonna have some form of spam. Its by nature part of the game and with that many players its pure chaos.
By far one of the best FPS`ers this year. Load the game and jump in. Fast loading, lots of customizations, lots of fun. SP is short but still fun and looks very nice. MP is where the fun really goes to a new level.
Also no matter what platform you play on pc, xbox 360 or ps3 everyone agrees this game rocks and is a must try.

I agree... Nade spamming is gonna be in any game that involves nades.. I think FF would sort that problem out but it would also take some of the fun out of Dead Nades and stuff.

The first COD it what got me addicted to gaming. It's great to see IW bringing back the original feel and play style of the game. COD4 is nothing less than great! There is something for everyone, weather it's a favorite weapon or favorite game type. One of the few games released this year thats actually (IMO) worth more than the money I paid for it. :D

I have TONS of challenges yet to complete.
Lots of fun.
Wish there was more of a team play deal, but all in all a great game.

Singleplayer on CoD games are always too short just like every other FPS game.
Multiplayer is just awesome, I always loved multiplayer since my first game after I build my very own gaming PC was CoD, then the expansion pack came out and I just kept playing. After CoD 2 I started to get a little tired of the same old, just shoot everything that moves gameplay so I moved to TF2.
I didn't really think about buying CoD4, but one day I just decided to get it. At first it was just CoD2 all over again, but then I noticed customizable weapons, perks that you can chose to make your playstyle even better and challenges that keep you trying to kill the enemies in crazy ways, It's just awesome, I'm addicted to CoD multiplayer all over again.
Now I wished we had like a second server or an especific date to play other modes like sabotage or search and destroy at least for one day a week.

I'm loving the game so far, though I haven't gotten to play nearly as much as I'd like.
My only dislike (teeny, weeny, almost nit-picking here) is the lack of "assist-based" perks/styles of play, though with all the teamwork and cooperation necessary to win a game in CoD4, I hardly think about it once I start playing.
BTW, Glad to see you on the forums, Guile. I guess I've missed your other posts so far. Always a blast seeing you on TF2, and now CoD4. :2thumbs:

Yes.
UT3 was much more DOA than I would have liked, and I want to play with CLRs (most of you aren't even in TF2 anymore. :P )
It's just a matter of waiting to see if I get it on Tuesday as a gift, or buying it myself on Wednesday. I'm going to get it at Best Buy or whoever has it on the best sale price, since I've waited long enough (I'm expecting Amazon certificates, and I'm not waiting until shipment), so I may be online Wednesday evening.
I'm hoping to whup most of you by Friday. :D

There are other styles of play. The game has like 6 different multiplayer game types.

Right, which is where the teamwork/cooperation factor really takes over. Or, at least I assume so. :D Never, ever playing at another server besides Cain's, so I haven't tried these yet, and don't plan to do so, unless Cain puts up a 2nd server for such game types.
But, even in team deathmatch, you're a lot better off working as a team. Sure, there aren't any "flags" or "objectives," but since you die so fast in this game, having buddies there, almost like a squad in BF series, is a big help. Which is why, in the end, I say that the lack of assist-based perks annoys me somewhat...until I actually get in game and am reminded that this game requires more teamwork than the BF series ever did (at least, in my opinion, it does).

Naw it just means he better learn to bunnyhop the grenades :)
Yes bunny hopping will save you from grenade spam :)
But on a serious note: No vehicles = no campers, alot less asshats, equal playing field (except for weapons scopes and unlocks). The fact that you get rewarded for killing streaks is just way more fun. jets and helis are not frustrating like in bf2.
Its a great game and very addicting. Dont worry rand. We can suck together. Im usually the lowest ranked player on the server. I can usually be found laying face down from A1B`s grenades. He has some kinda homing grenade that seems to find me no matter where i am :)
This game will make anyone forget about tanks or any other vehicle for that matter. Except on bloc.... i would love to have a tank to kill all the snipers on that level :pissed:
