Maybe the Xbox guys can consult with some of the laptop makers, car stereo makers, etc. to discover more of the magic of disk reading technology in this, the year 2010. :D

LOL! Microsoft is waiting to see if discs catch on first before dumping any R&D money into it.

Its just one of those common sense

What it needs is one of those locks on the spindle like the laptops. But it can happen to any system with a load tray that dont have a spindle lock. My first experience with a DVD player back when DVD players were getting cheaper didnt go so well too. I remember I was trying to figure out why video wasnt showing and the DVD movie came off the tray and took me hours to get it back out lol

I think the reason why it doesnt happen to PS3 or Wii is cause they are slot load systems

I LOL at that video!
"It sounded like a garbage disposal."
Never had one of those, but it did sound funny.

Is it worse(or better?) than the old models or what?(at scratching discs)

What are your opinions on it guys?

I don't get it. What kinda of person over the age of 10 moves their electric stuff while it's on? It's not a magic 8 ball where you have to shake it to work.

Well here is the thing for me....

Worst or better at scratching disk? Hmm...I would say they are about the same. Although that clip above was pretty deep. But there are several youtube clips of people "demonstrating" the older xbox 360's design by tiping over a upright xbox or roughing one up. Here is a clip of example

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CYuyJ4L7aE

Now my opinion,

When I first saw the slim xbox 360 on the stream E3 clips, I said to myself I have to get it.

Gamestop.com was the first site to have them on the same week. I wanted to buy one at the Gamestop store instead over the internet. But the website showed non of em seems to be in stores in my area. I think right now the Gamestop.com site is on back order :( I went to gamestop friday and just happen to ask the guy and said they just sold out 10 of those systems. (Damn you Gamestop.com!!!!)

Now for something thats been giving me 2nd thoughts..

Several people have been posting over at the Xbox.com | - New Xbox 360 Systems (http://forums.xbox.com/2564/ShowForum.aspx) forums about their new slim xbox dont work. Ranging from, too hot, black screen, dead power brick, dead out of the box, already red dot and other issues. The thing about these complants is trying to decipher the poser telling the truth or not. There were several guys complaning about there new xbox alread got the
"three red rings of death" The thing is the new xbox will not give you the 3 red rings of death. (trolls  )

Then again, it is the first round of batch so maybe it is better to wait it out :( MS did announce a bundle system with the Kinect so I may wait untill November. They also say there will be a Arcade version of the Slim model for $199. What will be included and not included is not yet known. One good thing about this the all the older Xbox 360 systems like the Arcade and Elite models are cheaper untill they are sold out.

Another issue for me is I just recently bought on Ebay a MW2 250GB hard drive (yes its offical and not a fakey) and already did my game and license content transfer over. Now I have to wait aleast a year but I think I saw something on Xbox.com for people who just did a transfer and just bought the new slim xbox 360. Just have to do it online while I transfer.
