Someone please help me

I can't play the game, and I have no idea how to manually update punkbuster. I am really get sick of this sh**. It says go to evenbalance.com, but I go there, and now what? I see that there's an update, I go to it, and it just gives me the code, not the download. I suck with computers, and just want to have some god damn fun but I can't with punkbuster problems.

So please help me someone before I get really frustrated at this :(

doesn't help, I can't open my PBsetup file. It says "this application has failed to start because MSVCP71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

And I guess I need that file to update punkbuster. Otherwise I can't do a damn thing.

Sweet, thanks vito and limey for the info. I restarted the game up, and it went to desktop to allow punkbuster access to the internet, let's hope it works! Server full :P

I can play on any server except Cain's. I just have to wait it out like last time I'm going to guess

Just manually download the latest client version from that link above, and do what it says, also make sure you do not have a firewall or something blocking the PB Ports...


PunkBuster (COD4) Player Client Files

The following files are only needed if your PunkBuster doesn't update by itself. Right click the appropriate links below and choose "save as" to your "system\pb\htm" folder - make sure the file you save is saved with the filename shown below. Players only need the files that correspond to their Operating System, Server Admins need all six files.

1) Where did you copy the files???

2) Take a screenshot of your console when you are connecting to my server, and post it here.

3) I think there is a setting to allow PB to update in COD4 anyone know that ??

deadly try this, go into your pb folder inside the COD4 folder and delete the files pbcl.dll and pbcls.dll then rerun pbsetup, that should fix it.

Well what do you know, waiting it out seemed to work. But I've had this game for 4 days and had the problem twice, so it might not be 100% fixed

Same thing as Battlefield 2142, download PB SVC and PB updater at evenbalace.com and do the whole manual crap...
