Does anyone know how to enable HW rendering for sound? I heard that may increase FPS, but I don't see the option in-game.

I found on one forum someone mentioned changing the setting for SoundSystemSize, but other people in the thread said it didn't work. I was going to try that tonight.

This link shows how to downgrade the sample rate of your soundcard for a slower cpu (suggested to slide to the lowest setting). On my PC, the same screen has a slider named "hardware acceleration" (suggested to slide to the highest setting).

See that's BS, the game should be supporting using the audio processor and not the CPU. I'm going to see what I can find on this.

That's just ridiculous if it is using the CPU.

From what I can tell, there is no way to tell it to use HW rendering. Using Qicmee's suggestion, I was able to increase my FPS by ~20.

Wow! Very nice.
I love Google!

By the way, the "use hardware" setting for audio is just another advanced setting in Windows. In this case, the game uses whatever Windows is set for.
